Members of PL were actively using a cheat that could locate any person in the game (system and exact station if docked) and give his ship type/ship ID/ship name (even if he was docked) during the two times PL won.

Hydra & 0utbreak did a dumb making a single corp but I see why they did it. CCP's response (both the lack of beforehand) and then specifically Screeg's on the forums just makes them look foolish and belittling to their customers.

ITT, people thinking it insane to punish crimes different depending on severity.

Example: You rape and kill a 5-year old girl for fun, and you get life in prison.
Another person kill an assailant trying to rape him/her, and get 2 years in prison.
You then choose to make a big deal of this and demand equal treatment...

I do however think that the tourney will be less interesting this year, due to not having any defending champion, and I personally think they should allow Hydra OR OB to compete in the tourney; but I am not the least surprised by the decision of CCP, as Hydra and OB pretty much did all in their power to get banned from the tournament.

Edit: The wise thing to do would be to take such decisions in advance and then informing the affected alliances. Leaving them with a chance to compete with one team would be fair enough.

How in any way this will destroy the AT I do not know, generally people don't give a fuck about hydra/outbreak being banned from the tourny, its only a few fanboys and the loud bawwing from hydra/outbreak that makes this seem like it matters. The tournament and all future tournaments will proceed with people taking part and enjoying it regardless of some cheaters getting caught. I personally enjoyed darius's posts in that hilarious thread, the amount of morons and crying that he made responses to was wonderful.

Page 19 post 375 in that thread was my personal favourite, really laid out the reasons why they got banned from taking part that even those most mongoloided of hydra(intigo) could understand.

Calling players pathetic on the official forums is pretty fucking woeful PR, and reeks of the same sort of hubris that cost CCP 20% of its staff. I doubt this'll cost them anything, of course, but it's just another indicator that CCP is losing its way. First they trample over their own sandbox, and then have the audacity to publicly hold players in contempt when they get justifiably pissed about it? Doesn't really bode well, particularly when it's the lead game designer taking potshots at the players. That sort of reflects on the company as a whole.
