Tell me if you see a phone or a tablet on this subsection of their site?
It's so funny to me that the one "selling point", the grand symbol of excellence that is spoken of with the serious look and the pause for effect, is that "anyone can pick it up and use it without guidance". Every fucking moron presenter that touches on UI includes that somewhere, every fucking time. For me I got to hear this gem again just three days ago.
Most of them are too stupid to realize this also means those who are *not* technological morons will invariably be slowed down by a shitty UI made for dumbasses. WinXP -> Vista/7 did it too, for some common tasks, even if it was just increasing click count from one to two, but at least they added a bunch of nice features too, which if I have to be fair, CCP did too with the filters.
Edit: Mac has its ups and its downs, like every other OS. I'm just arguing against the "so easy to use" line.

I'm assuming this is the correct thread for this..
Logged in to eve for the first time in months.. Account is still active so I thought I would keep the skill queue going.. I'm sitting in a thanny and I need a new skill book.. Easy, switch to ceptor, go get one.. Except I cant find my ship list. I have literally been looking for it now for 10 mins and the only wany I have found to get it is to enter the CQ, over of the hologram of the ship and click 'ships'.. The ceptor is unfitted.. I HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA HOW TO FIND MY MODULES.
So TL;DR, fuck this.. im training HIC 5 until its sorted out.

My point was, and the point I was hoping you would easily see, I have been playing this game forever, and this change has now made the inventory system so fucking complex I cant be shitted learning it. The UI for it is horrible and there is absolutely no hints as to what might do what for someone that hasn't been keeping up with the devblogs and has just had it dumped on it. I did eventually figure it out once I found out how to open the sidebar on the left which seemed to be minimized by default.
I honestly didn't think it was possible for CCP to make a worse UI than they already had but once again, CCP has gone above and beyond and produced something unbelievably shit.
I dread to even think how I would do something as complex as move an item between my cargo and my hanger.

Gotta agree on the "this is horribad UI" line. Logged in today as I have a move op later, right clicked on my carrier to fuel, no open fuel bay option?!?!!? My hangar and ship bay icons on the right are gone, WTF?!!?!? Needed to get into a stealth bomber that was in my carrier, cue 20 minutes of how the fuck do I fuel my cap and remove/replace a ship. It killed my itch to play, so back to tanks.![]()
Love the idea of a unified inventory, but implementation is CCP standard crap.
To be honest, the unified part is the problem of the entire inventory. There're so many bays, hangars and containers, which you do not want or need to appear in your inventory at a given moment but need an entirely different configuration the next moment, leaving other containers out and getting others in. The old inventory was able to do that as you needed, because it wasn't unified into a single window by default, though you were able to unify it if needed (creating stacks) or prefered (because you're a casual player).
Currently, I joined the crowd of "Get old inventory back, replace assets with the unified Inventory (and give it a range filter grid/station - system - region - universe)" and I think that would be the most sensible approach, since the entire system is more of an asset-manager then an actual inventory-manager.

No you don't get it man! If it's a container it makes total sense for it to be consolidated into one window, even if its a container you probably only ever touch once in weeks or months (POS guns), or can't do anything with anyway because another part of the game dictates you have to be in close proximity to interact with it (POS guns). Furthermore, in cases where you simply want to open a cargo container or a wreck in space, just to see what's in that one specific thing, it is necessary for you to see a lot of extraneous data you had no interest in seeing. ps. Sorry if opening a wreck takes orders of magnitude longer just to show this extra information you didn't ask for.

Your command of deliberate, convincingly bad English is amazing.
You're using the wrong theme.
In fairness to CCP, the filters own. Once the handful of big issues get sorted, then the inventory system will be great I reckon.
