Also confirmed for next build; Ponies, spotting stuff far away, more ponies and a fix to auto-aim.

    Here's an interesting thought perhaps....

DUST514 is probably one of the first games I can think of where it's pretty much certain a sizeable part of the Eve playing PC community will end up playing. By contrast how many Quake and Unreal Tournament players of old are hardcore enough to be bothered to plug in a K+M for Gears of War, or Halo, or whatever?

It's also a game that needs to survive on the PS3 for some time.

If traditional PS3 gamers start playing and keep getting beasted by any average K+M player, what incentive will they have to keep playing? I'd say it's fairly likely that a K+M gamer would totally dominate anyone having to deal with a control interface that isn't conducive to FPS (i.e. physically distinct inputs for movement and aiming).

I wonder whether this absence of K+M support at this stage is more about keeping PS3 people interested than it is a technical obstacle....

The market for potential PS3 gamers (with only DS3s) is significantly larger than Eve players with a PS3. Something like a few million vs a few 10k. CCP would be shooting themselves in the foot if they are eventually planning on disenfranchising players with unballanced KB/M controls.

Eventually? KB+M is going to be in for beta, which means that it's almost definitely going to be in for release. Don't have a KB+M? HTFU.

I'm just saying that CCP probably isn't scheming to build hype by delaying KB/M support in the beta, and that it is in their best interests to release with some level of balance with the gamepad.

I'll be trying both, but I'm not sure how comfortable I'll be gaming on KB/M without a desk. Remember, most people have their consoles in their living room.

Imho quit bitching and use Move for 5 minutes. Then, Dual Shock will magically be extremely precise.

Best console technique for accuracy is to move your feet to micro adjust rather than your aim.

That would honestly be the best thing they could do with plex since the last plex4charity.

nearly all the "pro" twitch aim FPS players (ut/quake) do it that way anyways, when i play UT 99% of my accuracy is placing myself walking/jumping/dodging/bouncing of a wall and then doing the last 1% with the mouse, the joy of playing with 0.5 sensitivity

Started using the KB and mouse 2 days ago - my KD ratio improved right away. Bit tricky as I play this on a TV so the KB is on my lap not on a desk but im getting used to it. Bought a nice bluetooth combo and tbh it works great.

Still need to use the controller for a one or 2 functions, but not very much.

USB or Bluetooth, or even a wireless KB/M with a USB receiver. I've had them all work.

I have had issues with USB hubs, though - fyi. Might have worked better if it was a powered model.
