I really don't have an explanation for it either.
Essentially what happened was, we spotted a tengu and a mega on-scan in our static and decided to lolpew. Then we noticed a Covetor, and laughed as they warped off to a grav site (we assumed, we were watching them on dscan trying to find a pos). Somebody mucked up and dropped combat probes too close to them, they got spooked and POS'd up. We waited a bit, then shot at the tower for fun - it was a medium, shitfit with no guns - and then started to move along. Not long after the mega pilot came back from being AFK or something and warped to an anom.

Both cases should be viewed in close relation with the system bonuses.
Moros was apparently shield-tanked, but didn't hold it and re-fitted to max hull-tank in attempt to survive through the siege cycle. All his mids must've been put into the Carrier. Shield Moros in Pulsar is OK.
Though Revel is strange a little, all the rest is simply - the system has bonus for smarts. People there often use smarts in PVE.
Using the system effect on smarties to kill many red crosses and derping mostly..
So the day starts out as a regular day for us. We had a corp meeting to discuss industry and maybe joining/creating an alliance. One of our members derped and got killed a few days before so we opened the static and checked for pews and an exit. Static was a C2 with a C2 and lowsec static. Russian occupied, so we open the next C2. Tengu and Noctis on scan in an anom. I use my probing alt to point him and wait for everyone else to show up for the gank. Our dumbass dictor pilot bubbles before I can get out so down goes my point Helios. I'm actively bitching out our dictor pilot for getting me killed, when someone posts the loss and I see the loot. 3 CN BCUs and a CN SBA. Hehe, quite happy with that now, so I'm ok with loosing a Helios now. Especially since I kept my Sisters launcher. We were moving back home when I get a convo.

TL;DR: He gave us all his stuff. Yes, he actually dropped the shield and warped away. We scrambled everyone to go grab ships. After 30 minutes of laughing while we moved ships around back to our home, we came up with a total. All said and done, 5 billion in mods, and around 4 billion in hulls alone. Rigs haven't been assessed yet, some stuff has T2 rigs and some stuff doesn't. All in all, we got quite a bit of shit.

Sounds more like he's bad at wormholes and actually paying for his sub. If you pay for ISK while living in a wormhole, you're doing it wrong.

Hey, someone on Kugu pointed me here since this was brought up.
The short story is our C5 system was sieged by Cha-Ching. We suffered quite a bit of losses and made some mistakes but with the help of Exhale, Surely You Must Be Joking?, and friends - we were able to overcome.
We had to do the "never give up, never surrender" thing. I think in the chaos our Chimera pilot forgot to take the Tengus out, when he warped in to assault that small POS he disconnected right as they aggressed him.
We lost a large POS worth of stuff, Chimera, assorted Tenugs and other ships. At some point I'm going to post a better battle report but at this point in time it isn't wise to go into all the details.
Short version: They sieged us Thursday, we took a beating but survived with merc help Friday, they lost one Moros and we lost a Large POS + shit in it. Saturday we blew up their small, they retaliated, mercs came in again, we pulled off a bait plan that worked perfectly and they evacuated.
Posted a brief BR and kill links here. Not the whole picture but you get the idea.

AHARM got a great fight out of Temnava Legion in their home system last week. Unusually for us, we formed up a shield fleet as Temnava home is a C6 Pulsar.
