Many people already have a few characters they are working on, so starting up an act 1 normal SC character is pretty low on the priority list.

With a friend it would be interesting to play though, and I figure that way I might at least make it though normal, then it might be more paletable.
I don't see how SC AH is going to work well. Unlike HC where gear is removed from the economy the SC AH is just going to get flooded.
Well at least you can get few milion gold cheap from gold site and get some gear to help you enjoy the game instead of frustrating dying.
That is positive side
right ?
Theres a few of us (like 3-6) on FHC TS... just hop in.
Only way im even halfway surviving stuff in Act2 Inferno:
Force Armor, Diamond Skin, Frost Nova /w Coldsnap, Critical Mass, Evocation, Glass Cannon. Around 15% crit from gear, Arcane Hydra + Frozen Solid Blizzard. Magic Missile, but that hardly matters imo.
Basically, i can aoe stun them approx every 6 secs for 3 secs, depending on critluck.
So I just bought a bunch of dye and now my Witchdoctor is rocking all pink armor. This is the best thing. Game of the year!
Anyone know wtf liquid rainbow is for? I have a bottle of the stuff, but not sure what to do with it (can't seem to die clothes, which would be the obvious choice...)
Ok so I tried out the auction house and now I don't understand why I should be spending gold on that blacksmith or why I should be picking up anything besides money and legendaries (to sell)
Shit is so friggin cheap on AH...
On SC, with no sink for items to exit the game (except for people quitting, I suppose), the auction house will inevitably get bloated with more powerful items as people upgrade and sell their old stuff. Kind of sad.
Since I am posting in a "Rage, can't login thread": Just bought the game and decided to quickly get to lvl10 so I can start a HC character. All went fine until the Catacombs, where I start getting error 3007's, and after a dozen tries I give up trying to get to the next area. This also puts into question the idea of a HC character, in general.
was the same shit in d2, but still some items were super rare, 1-2 drops / month / millions of people playing. that kind of items will get you going. (beside dupes ofcourse)
why level bs ?
is cheap, and you can find set recipes.
jc is kinda moot, but i will get it aswell to max level.

Found my first legendary item, Fleshrake, rolled with +vit so is kinda nice.
Currently loving the AH, every couple of levels I visit it and update most of my gear for my barb. Have been stacking +xp and +health globe but now I'm about level 33 and in act 4 so I'm going to start stacking +str and +vit instead.
Gems are stupidly cheap on AH, way cheaper than I could craft them.
So Roamy's guide to Inferno pt II.
After yesterday's evening running through act 1 with Snu, Pie and Tron we tried to progress further in act 2 for shits and giggles. And while the trash mobs are fine, and sand wasps can be evaded, the champions were hitting for amounts that made me go back to the drawing boards.
Main reason? I'm convinced mitigation is fantastic, but the sheer damage potential from Act 2 onwards implies I need to reconsider how quickly a dodge build becomes viable. Besides that, there were a few minor issues with my build:
-Crippling Wave and its 20% damage reduction isn't reliable enough for two reasons: It's slow(way less spirit gen), and due to the low range it's not affecting as many people as say Resolve is constantly while Sweeping Wind is active.
-Mantra of Healing focuses on taking the hits and then healing yourself up again. Inferno hits are so huge that this approach isn't viable until you can have 90% total mitigation through gear. Furthermore, MoH has the standard Monk issue of scaling with levels, not with gear.
-Lacks dps. Crippling wave is slow, as mentioned before and your only source of dps is Sweeping Wind (which is admittedly awesome).
So I experimented for a while, and I came up with a build. Here's the weird thing though: I'm convinced there was some weird undocumented issue with how the damage reduction abilities from my last build were stacking, because the new build (with the same gear) functions WAY better in all regards, much more than I calculated it should. I went from being able to tank Act 2 without too much trouble and being able to go through the entirety of Act 1 (including Butcher) without dropping below 80% health.
New Build
Essentially this new build is what I theorycrafted before the game even came out (with Mystic Ally being the exception), and it's working rather insanely well. Couple of notes:
-Sweeping Wind can be maintained as Cyclone, or switched to Inner Storm for passive spirit regeneration.
-Mystic Ally is... surprisingly good. As in: extremely good. The 10% hp buff is nice, the taunt CC is on a short cooldown and replaces Flash, and the minion does more average dps than any of the spirit spenders and without needing any input from you. Really upped my damage by quite a significant amount.
-BoH and Serenity are of course still required. Spam the BoH whenever needed to maintain Blazing Wrath stacks.
-Life-regen comes from orbs and getting a life-on-hit item or lifeleech.
-Spam Mantra for even higher dodge, reaching 65%+ for me.
If you're stuck in Act 2 or Act 3 Inferno, try this out and let me know if it works for you. Also, plus reps.
