That art is subjective is the biggest load of retard crap bullshit ever invented by failed art students.

While there is great variation in what people enjoy and feel comfortable with, we all share the same general brain structure. In the same way that we share the realization that some mathematical formulas are beautiful, and that they produce complexity that astounds us, art is if done right something that all living creatures appreciate assuming sufficiently advanced intelligence.

Fractals are one of the best examples of this; the details can be adjusted, coloring, input variables, etc, yet they all produce beauty.

    LoL retard.
Thanks for proving that you are the retard. What we like is more shaped by our socialization and enculturation than this "general brain structure" you mention. How come that certain societies think big is beautiful whereas others think the total opposite? Just look at Tonga for an example of this. If it had to do with brain patterns, we all would find the same beautiful. Turns out, we don't. Much of that is ruled by where, when and how we grow up, just to scratch the iceberg. And then there is more to it that we cannot explain, that shapes our taste.

TL/DR: science says you are a retard.

Why are butterflies beautiful? Did they evolve in order to attract praise of beauty from you, or that male insect...

If your proposition was true then the majority of species that depend on visual display to attract mates (rather than other factors) would not be recognizable as beautiful by us. Your focus on 'big' versus 'small' versus 'fat' and weird local customs show how limited you are in your appreciation of what makes something beautiful.

Not entirely on-topic, but... are V3'd Winmatar ships off the table for Inferno?

there's about ~5d left till inferno goes live, so yeah probably not a thing that'll happen. They'll likely be coming soon though.

This is something we've been looking into but can’t make any changes until ALL ships are V4'd as it would be a global change to all ships
. I do not have any details on this other than we are looking into it.

I will however point one of the senior artists to this thread to look at the screenshots you have created for the Paladin.
Because changing it globally now to make the majority & newer ships look correct would be bad...

As you'll of noticed some house patterns have changed i.e. Sarums red/gold scheme has been flipped around, this was intended. The manufacturer logo/decal that is on the ships is something we're looking into and we'll hopefully have an update soon.

And lastly some general info on that they are & aren't doing with V3.

What's truly is the fact that they subject themselves now to forum whining from people who don't like the dark ships.
Then they'll update the shaders and have another group of players whine and complain to no end, because their ships are not dark and eerie anymore. They really like wasting dev time on the forums I guess.

Seems that they're going to deploy updated shaders once V3 is done for all ships, which will become V4, and the current skins were tuned for that. So basically CCP said 'fuck it we're going to be lazy and not duplicate effort'.

Which is what they should do; be smart about resource usage and not spend graphics guy time on something that will be obsoleted in the near future.

No no, they possibly do, but it would make the non V3'd ones look bad. You know, those far in the minority and not being touted as supposedly good-looking now even though this darkness issues is clearly fucking that up.

If only cap ships weren't the only thing you can actually see when zoomed out at a reasonable distance when playing eh? Well, them and Machs (see, I got that Angels dig in there somehow).

And why is the Daredevil's background still red not green?!

Ah wait, so the changes to some of the manufacturers of ships was unintentional???
    Don't believe it

    I'm confused...

Confirming the textures have been shit on some ships since trinity, their shaders are/ were actually really good at hiding the low quality of the base diffuse maps, not so much now lol
