So far the f2p mechanic side of it sounds pretty reasonable. From the beta leaks so far, you basically pay RL cash for gear that's equal to the good isk-purchased stuff except it requires less skills to use. Basically like meta-level/t2 gear difference in eve, but there's no difference in stats or fittings between the two. I would probably play it but i don't have a PS3 and i'm not gonna buy one for a single game. I'm guessing Planetside2 is probably going to be out before DUST for PC so i'll just have to compare the two games and see what i enjoy better

The Dust reveal was the final straw for me picking up a PS3 console in 2008. Of course, this was before the exclusivity agreement was known so I consider myself one lucky bastard.
Obviously I'll be playing, as well as most of my friends. One of them (ex-pro RTS gamer) even bought a PS3 just for Dust. Evidently there is a lot of anicipation for the game in a significant portion of the console crowd.
I swear that they've been mentioning for ages that they would have some sort of conveniently located servers so ping/latency isn't a thing. I have no idea how exactly that works out (do they run a local version of the match on all the local servers and sync them up or something?), but i know it's been mentioned before.If they're not retarded, they'll have servers closer than London.

If it was available on PC I'd give it a go (free, so why not?), but I'm not bitter because it was always intended to be console-only.
