I guess I'll ask here since I can't fucking figure it out. Anyone know why Arma II keeps crashing as I'm trying to boot the game? I'm running Steam as an administrator and the local cache files are verified, so I can't figure out what's going on.

Have you tried reinstalling?

Yes. Steam thinks for a bit, does it's little loading menu thing, then screen goes black like game is about to start, then game crashes.

How about RPT and dump files in "user/AppData/Local/Arma 2 OA/" ? that contains some info on crashes. Not sure if it will help though in this case.

I had this issue. I believe it had something to do with my battle eye installation but every time I tried to reinstall battle eye the installer refused to launch.

So I deleted local content for arma 2 op arrowhead and re-downloaded and after that it worked perfectly.

When you install ARMA II and OA you need to start Arma II first, do the 'first run' bits, then run OA and do the same. Then shut it down, do the mod stuff and then start OA specifically. Starting Arma II first and doing first install should also do battle eye stuff.

Do you get a command prompt flashing by?

Logged in this morning, FPS issues fixed. \o/

Killed three guys at the NW Airfield, then was disconnected 10 minutes later due to my internet taking a shit.

Upon logging back in, there was a guy laid prone at my position, looking over the runway. Killed him too! Now carrying 2 tents, AKM, 12 magazines and 2 tents (and a lot of beans/smoke grenades).

So last night to stop my balls freezing off I tried lighting a fire since the introduction of wood. Two fails later with the fireplace not spawning properly I felt properly silly. Now I have to walk through the FORESTS past LOGPILES looking for wood in barns etc. Because that makes lots of sense -_-;

ammo is dropping everywhere too. the one thing the winchester is brilliant for is the sound it makes. it's louder now since the patch but the sound of one firing in the distance is fucking hard to track propperly. the rest of the guns I have encoutered so far I have no issue pinpointing a directions within a few shots being fired but the winny is a really muffled sound.

I am awful. After having rounded up a fair bit of ammo for the M1014, me and Watts set off to go look for food and supplies in Pustoshka. We're sneaking about, doing fine and then zombies start spawning right near us. Ok, nbd, we'll hide behind this house. Oh wait, one spawns right on top of us. I pump 4 rounds into him the Makarov and we take off running. I don't know how to jump fences, so I take a bite or two there as I figure it out. Run my ass off then try to get a bandage on as I have some amount of distance but instead I hit 'B' and bring up my binos.

I get chewed on and even though I am able to get up, I bleed out before I can get a bandage on. Sigh, el terrible.
