In the thread on their forums currently mentioning the terrible [Legion] server being run in Dallas, mod creator guy mentioned needing root access on the volunteer servers during setup, etc. I imagine that might be a point of concern depending on what else you have on that server

apparently it *is* possible to run dayz mod with free arma 2 and arma 2: AO, but i'm really struggling to get them to launch together as combined ops: lite

i think it has stuff to do with my arma 2: ao being steam bought but i have no fucking idea what im doing

yeah man i already checked that shit but i was still getting errors, dunno im busy now but i'll try again later

edit got it working had to move a few files about, now im just waiting for the server to create my character

yes, and when i contacted them i told them pretty clearly that i cannot give them permanent root access to it even tho i can offer them much more powerful hardware than they need.

Why not? Its 2012, i would run every seperate service and whatever you have running in its own virtual instance, who cares if they have root on "nothing but arma2 server"?

I would avoid the FI and some EU servers, the DE servers are usually full but only "regular" difficult, meaning you have crosshairs n 3rd party view. The FI and some EU servers run veteran, i.e. stricly 1st person view with no crosshairs etc so you are forced to aim down sights etc.

Not sure about others but Ive huge issues finding painkillers but I found a solution. Loot a hospital, they have like 5 boxes in each supply box.

because said box (by box i am obviously talking about a VM) would be run on the datacenter i run, while i could simply create a separate virtual network for them it would cause much more hassle than i would be willing to bother with, not just technically speaking.

my point exactly, its unpractical and could pose a "security risk" (giving root access to an unknown person, worst part is it *has* to be Windows)
