this game blows when you're solo.

once the 'start' stage is over (you get enough gear to be able to survive in the wilderness) it's just loot this loot that, but it inevitably ends in my death since, well, i'm solo.
so i tend to avoid densely populated areas just not to get sniped.
and that kind of play is, well, boring,,,

edit: so i run around, cursing the shit spawns, and suddenly get a glimpse of a heli spawn!
sadly it was already looted, but running away from it... lo and behold - WHAT SORCERY IS THIS! An old bike!

Few hours ago i was rolling in my old bike and i saw a heli spawn outside stary sobor, similar story, mostly looted. there were 10 Stanag SD clips though, which i grabbed. Love the bike, even if i am a faildriver

Fueled up and drove around on an ATV that was magically fixed by a server restart earlier.

Zombie aggro in 1.7.2.3, especially during day, is really really bad. So yeah, a massively loud ATV is not really ideal for travel. I want a bicycle as well :/

Unless you guys stole a vehicle, restarting after you've killed people does nothing. Well actually, it does, it denies you the loot which they could have done by alt-f4'ing anyway. Still gay though.
Also the PDW is a piece of shit, stay away from it. Best pistol is the m1911 by a distance, followed by revolver.

A lot of the largest problems are inherent in the complete fucking failure that is the Arma 2 engine. It's definitely a cool alpha, but I can't be asked to keep investing time in something so buggy and full of retarded quirks. And honestly if they don't fix the ability to server hop I probably won't bother with it going forward. It degrades what could be a "high risk high reward" pvp experience.

Best part of this game is the first 2 hours. Everything after that is just survival and ultimate dissappointment.

we lost our swede to a log on sniper in stary, but we got the logger. thankfully it was only our swede, who then proceeded to attempt to get to us for the next hour. i don't think he ever made it.

then we lost our l85 guy with thermals north of stary to what feels like a log on sniper, but i can't be sure (he was running across an open area like a derp, but he claims he glassed the area. he died after the crossing, in his defense). as i approached his body and the location of the sniper (guy had what sounded like a DMR and was definitely close, like within 30m), the server desynced and we got the red message countdown of doom. my moment of revenge was taken from me, and i couldn't even fucking loot back the l85. I WAS PRETTY MAD.

i'm still having fun, but it gets really frustrating, haha. guild wars 2 can't come soon enough.

What's frustrating isn't the realism (1 shot kills, bleeding, etc.) it's how that realism can be abused. Logging out once you hear gunshots, logging in behind someone's position, server hopping on low pop servers for gear.

I wish they'd do 1 character per server. It would fix a ton of these problems.

meh, that would only encourage faggot clans to camp their own server and hoard shit there

imho, login timer per server that exponentially increases its length and decreases it only after you've played certain time would fix this right up. global timer, in character context, not server.
first time you get like several minutes cooldown. next time, 5. than 15. than 30. it decreases after 30 minutes of continuous play.
