Pending Update 1.7.1 Details
Rough outline of what to expect in the pending update.

I will update this as more stuff is put in. Changelog will then follow it.

Performance and Optimization

- Reduction/elimination of the new server lag. This is caused by the ArmA2 server expecting immediate response from the central server. Vehicles are the main cause of this, as whenever they are damaged everything stops while the server ensures this is recorded in the database.
- Bugs fixed that were possibly causing very significant netcode overhead (will need mass-scale testing to verify this).

Infected Behavior

- Infected can no longer see/attack through walls.
- Entirely new mocap'd attack and running animations

Content

- Additional Idle Infected sounds
- Revised Attack sounds
- Many new action sounds, including IV, bandaging etc...

Notes

- This update will REQUIRE the beta patch, so it is worth installing this now and getting used to it.
- Read up at the BI Forums about the beta patch install. It's pretty easy.

god damn i need a new backpack though. found so many crossbows and also a silenced pistol (only 15 shots for it though)

any idea on where to reliably get an alice pack or better?

I think back packs will spawn in most types of building though I've personally had most luck finding them in supermarkets.

found about 4-5 in berezino, chech backpack, or what it is called

im there now in a hospital...with 200.7 blood lol , passing out every few mins

Alice packs spawn in shops, churches and houses and are pretty common atm. Also that patch is amazing.

Btw just wanna say to the people who decided to switch TS or w/e, If you came and told the rest of us you wanted to play on your own without us for awhile it would have been fine, I personally wouldn't of minded, weed said he didn't mind either. Dissapearing randomly and changing your names in a game like Dayz is a bit of a dick move. We weren't sure what was going on or whether we were going to get shot by you guys or not. I guess its fairly clear now though at least. Don't have anything personal against you but some clarification of what was going on would have been nice.

Either way, people were getting way tense that evening the Landy got attacked on the road, and by the end off it I was purposely logging off to go and loot cherno alone. It shouldn't be like that. Rather than kick up a fuss, I disappeared. Dick move or not, I really couldn't care less. Anyway, after being outplayed today and losing all my stuff after an epic battle on the hill of Elektro (Where I got 6 kills before I snuffed it) I'm now roaming around in camo with an Alice pack and a AKM, playing legit.

Me, Weed and Monkey engaged some guys camping on the clock tower in Cherno just now, took down 2 of them and then the server reset , must of been an admin or something.

what is the server? i just went on a mission to the NW airfield, got lost (using oog map only) and after 2 hours of running around i found the devils hill castle or something.

i found a czech backpack next to a body in a mall somewhere west, in the swapping process i lost: silenced m9 pistol, compass, hatched, knife and matches. put all my stuff into the new one of the ground and picked it up. i lost a load of ammo as well.

found a dead dude in there with an alice pack (couldnt swap it for my czech pack though - didnt want to either did want to lose all my stuff) and also found an m101 shotgun with 8 rounds. didnt swap it for my winchester with 40 rounds though.

Bans have been rolled back, it was some dick at the host end who didnt like all the multiple connects/disconnects people where doing in a short period of time. Its sorted and you can get back on right away i think (may need a reboot)

Proper procedure for swapping backpacks without losing shit:

1. Go to a nice clear patch of flat ground and drop your current backpack
2. Go to new backpack, scroll wheel, select "take backpack"
3. Go to old backpack, scroll wheel, select "open backpack"
4. Double click the new backpack in your inventory to open it
5. Move items from left to right

anyway been up around Berezino for 2 days now ( this place is awesome, 2 stores, dear stand, lootable houses, hospital ) but sadly no other players...seems like everyone is in chermo/elektro ...found an alice pack, winchester and 1911, camo, with loads of ammo and im just having fun shooting zed's, while moving w towards nw airfield..took myself up from 200.7 blood, to, 12k, with killing a sheep on the field and cooking meat, and i must have looted all cans in berezino

Damn, every time I've gone to Berezino I've run into other survivors. Usually after I've made my way into the town, and trying to head back up the road and avoid potshots from the hospital area. Which is a giant pain in the ass, zombies everywhere

Thanks to PL duders killing a bunch of Russian snipers I now have an amazing sniper rifle, silenced handgun, NV, GPS and shit.


I'm still absolutely terrible though.
