i never got into airsoft, but realy want to try paintball.
I'd be willing to try airsoft with mah mates, also
i got turned off of it when i saw a t-shirt in an specialized airsoft shop: MIA - POW - Never forgotten. I pictured that thing of some fat kid and suddenly had to supress a gag reflex

Detecting epic potential, expecting epic fail.
Ah yes, the fork: The poor man's trident

Airsoft is kinda fun if you know of an abandoned house and a few buddies who want to play.

Was sponsored and on a D3 team for a long time. Went to Orlando a few times for the big championship. Played with Ollie Lang, and quite a few of the Russian legion guys.

Last gun I ran in competition was an invert mini with a Pure energy Low pressure 45/45 tank and empire magna feed hopper.

all the rest I my gear was empire and invert stuff.

God I miss xball. The snake was my personal killing field.
Big ups man, xball is legit. I heard it was more fun and easier to maneuver because the field was wider, where as on an NPPL 7-Man field, it's narrow enough that a few solid back players can lock down lanes and really slow the pace of the game. Did you find that to be true? (I never played legit xball so I was always curious)
The real saving grace of Xball was the 5 man format. It really decreases the amount of paint in the air which gives you room to move around when not in a bunker. The width of the field was kinda neutralized by your two back players crossing up and minimizing forward movement of the other team.

Basically, an xball game would run like this.

Everyone lines up for the break.

Horn sounds and the Snake player runs for snake 1 or 2 depending on how fast you are/can you dive or slide/size of gun.

While the snake guy was running the back players moved into the two closest cans and then start laying down paint.

The mid guys either go to the car washes, the Doritos, or do a run through.

If anybody got caught on the break you're pretty much fucked.

After that its all about the snake guys snap shooting while trying not to get long balled by the opposing backs or mids.

Once someone wins the snake its hard to recover.

This is why I hated tourney paintball. Woodsball on 20 man teams of randoms is a lot more enjoyable for me.

Woodsball > Speedball speedball just seems more based on lucky than thinking and skill. Me and my friends have beaten all the teams at local field at one point or another by just spraying like the paint was free (it wasnt ). Woodsball need alot more thinking moving and better aim imo Also golf carts.

Hyper ball was fun... If that was what It's called. All the names were a bit off and mushy when I started playing in 02.

It's the one that used black tubes for bunkers, made a distinctive sound when hit.

I like woodsball better because I like hunting people down in the woods, the freedom of movement is just too fun. I wouldn't say speedball, or more specifically airball, is more about luck though. There's a lot of teamwork, athleticism and strategy that goes into it.

Scenario games, now that's where it's at! Urban paintball is the best.

Yup that's hyper ball. That and giant spools seem to be what comprise 90% of rec ball fields. Fuckin spools.

I used to play Daisy vs. Red Ryder down in the river bottoms. No shots above the waist, no more than one pump per shot, and you were out of the round once you started crying.

Seriously, you air soft boys are pussies. You can't even break the skin with those toys...might as well stick to squirt guns.

Not so much luck as minutia. You let that guy on the other team get behind that one barrier in 9.2 seconds instead of 10.9 seconds? gj, you just lost the game. Pretty much anything team based that gets crazy competitive is like that though (dota/hon/lol and SCII come to mind).

Also, I hate spools so much. The only redeeming quality is about them is the rage produced when I shoot people through that center hole with my flatline. (or shoot my flatline out through the center hole).

You've obviously never seen a real airsoft gun before, they can most definitely break skin, chip teeth, and I've heard stories about having to dig BBs out with a scalpel when someone forgot that their gun had a minimum engagement range for a reason.

Yeah true. It's not as bad in airball though because a smart play can usually make up the difference, whereas in a lot of eSports the actions can be so precise that once you fuck up, your done.

I'll tell you what. You shoot me in the leg with a red ryder and i'll shoot you with a custom airsoft gun I built. One of us will go to the hospital, and it won't be me.(obviously not field legal)
