Eh i never actually herd them rejecting a restoration of a biomassed char. And i saw a few of them restored.

Same, everyone I know who's biomassed and then wanted to resub has been able to get their original character back, for obvious reasons; CCP want your money. That's not the issue. The issue is whether GMs will still give you the character back if you biomass, then (get someone else to) create a new character with the same name as the biomassed one, then petition to have the biomassed one restored - since there would then be a character with the old name on the database, they'd have to let you pick a new one if they were to resurrect the character.

Even if it worked once, I suspect they'd kill it off the instant it started becoming at all widespread.

solution about someone else (or you) reclaiming your biomassed name (and end with that shit loophole) : lock the biomassed char name for 15-30 days to the account who belong that biomassed char.

you delete your char : you can make another char with the same name on the same acount only.
noone else from another accounts can make it for xx days.

if you petition for name change for you biomassed char, gm will just laught at you. much simpler system, less hour spent on crap and loopholes petitions, with random ending. amarr citizen ftw.

or they can charge a fixed ammount of $ for every char sales if you want them to include a name change service with the caracter sell. (of course visible on the char sheet). but only for a char sell. (personally i'm not happy with that, but wth. some people would like it.)

I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be considered a name change, just correcting capitalization.. (ie, the game seems 'thisguy' the same as 'ThisGuy' so its the same name, except for how it is displayed)
