    Live Concert Thread

What was the last live concert you went to and how awesome was it?

I saw Rammstein at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta and it utterly blew me away. Words cannot describe the awesomeness.

I went to see a Pink Floyd tribute band in Timaru around May last year, they did a pretty good job of it.

If only the real thing counts, I saw Sting in Christchurch the week before the Feb 2011 earthquake. It was the Symphonicity tour, so he had the local orchestra backing him and everything. Was awesome.

(also in b4 thread gets moved to music subforum)

    Contract stuff to Seraphina Amaranth.

Last one that really blew me away was Soundgarden. If they were half as good when they were around, I can understand why they got big.

Last one was knopfler and dylan in Berlin.... was fucking expansive and dylan is a brabbling oldfag (should have died long ago).

Rammstein was even more expansive but at least had a good show.
Decided once again to stop wasting money on the big ones and will ignore it like the last times, chance given.

When I see a bird that walks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck id call it a duck.
And if the bird denies to be a duck it is a russian duck.

Good one on posting to the right forum Vlad (you didn't).

I've not been to see a band in ages. I think the last band I saw (gigs I've played at don't really count I guess) was Porcupine Tree at the Albert Hall in October 2010, which was wicked.
If you include raves and dances though, the last dance I went to was System with Mala and V.I.V.E.K last Saturday. Absolutely big night.

I Make a point to get to Madison Wisconsin for "Band Camp" almost every year. Acts I recommend:
Bobaflex, Nonpoint, Sevendust, Dope, Sick Puppies, Egypt Central, 5 Finger Death Punch, Godsmack, Flaw, Mudvayne, Red, Hurt, Lecuna Coil, Anew Revolution

    Would not recommend:
Since October, Seether, Shinedown. Enormous suckage they be.

I would kill to see a live performance of P-Tree's "Stop Swimming". I love the fuck out of that song. Best song of of "Stupid Dream".

Fuck yes that's also my favourite one. They didn't play it, unfortunately.

The last live show I went to was The Cleveland Orchestra performing the music to Charlie Chaplin's City Lights, a month ago or so. It was phenomenal. I normally don't go to "accompaniment" style performances, but this was a really wonderful event. The film was fun and the music itself was very well played.

The original movie can be found on YouTube for those very few who are probably interested.

I usually go to a half dozen TCO concerts a year.
