anyone seen The Watch yet?

going to see it tongiht hopefully and dont know what to expcet

Dumb, toilet humor, with some slapstick thrown in. There were several parts where I almost died laughing. Cameo by R. Lee Ermey (drill sarge from Full Metal Jacket). There are some action sequences, too. I knew what to expect as soon as I saw the top billed cast. All in all, a somewhat forgettable film.

Has anyone seen the Total Recall 'remake' yet? It looks average and I don't intend to hold it up to the original because, going off the trailers they look like two different stories. But there doesn't seem to be much else on at the moment.

Also, reference The Expendables. Haven't seen the second one yet but the first one... It was all around pretty wank from pretty much every critical perspective but it was still fun to watch, not because it was full of good actors and legends but because everyone involved looked like they were having a good time and enjoying the job.

Wasn't overly terrible, as long as you accept it to be a big action film.

It looked nice, the CGI was very well done, not like the latest Spider-man.

And friend and I agreed that it actually would've benefitted from being in 3D. And I hate 3D.

Just watched the new Expendables.


It was really, really stupid - everything I expected. Just as I thought "well, I wonder if they somehow manage to turn it even more ridiculous", Chuck Norris shows up to save the day.


great fun, plenty of explosions, ridiculous amounts of (really really REALLY bad) references to previous movies by Schwarz and the others. Though what's up with ANOTHER ugly female lead in a man's man movie - IIRC one in the first film was some Hispanic slag, this one was just as bad

TBH, I really liked the first 2/3's of the movie, but it really looses its steam near the end. Also, WHY NO MARS!?!

Eah, it was trying to be it's own movie, which I was fine with.

I enjoyed the few little throwbacks to the Aahnold Total Recall during the course of it, but I'm glad they didn't try to just do the same thing over again.

But yeah the last part was a bit boring, too obvious.

It was funny watching the big fight between Farrell and Malcolm's dad and you could sort of see it as a vidya game final boss made up of entirely quicktime events. That and the completely gratuitous MORE EXPLOSIONS when The Fall, er, fell. Blows up, then BLOWS UP AGAIN. I would've thought it would've been cooler if it blew up the anchors and fell into the centre of the earth and got stuck there.

Saw the new Total Recall on Friday. The story and some of the acting is so so however the set design, CGI and futuristic cityscapes are something else. It was like watching a modern day blade runner in that regard. They're not dark and gritty like blade runner but share the high level of detail.

The remake does have a different story to the original but borrows a lot of scenes and dialogue.
