On my To Watch list. I've heard good things about Tyranasaur too which is Paddy Constadine's first movie.
Melancholia was good. A very pretty movie in addition.

Watched The Divide last night and was very disappoint. I expected something along the lines of Children of Men or The Road (personal struggle, drama and conflict, with "big picture" story in the background influencing characters. There was no such "big picture" story and the movie really suffered as a result. The conclusion was utterly dissatisfying to top it all off.

    Ginger Snaps
It has like three sequels too. The first one is probably one of the better werewolf movies out there IMO.

    Seconding Dog Soldiers for sure.

I just rewatched The Proposition. One of my all time favorites. Directed by John Hillcoat (The Road). You seriously can't make a western darker and dirtier. The cinematography and the soundtrack are absolutely amazing and Guy Pearce just killed it.

If you have read Cormack McCarthy's Blood Meridian you need to see this. No movie will ever be as close to that book as The Proposition.

I keep planning on seeing this yet it always slips my mind. Incidentally I just realized that I don't know the last time I saw an Australian-made movie.

Seconding The Proposition. Just watched it recently for the second time as well. Fucking crazy movie. Never occurred to me that it's in the Western genre, which I just assumed Americans have the exclusive monopoly on...but I suppose it is!

Keeping with the Australian theme, Animal Kingdom is really good. Hard-hitting gangster flick with some really heavy scenes and solid acting across the board. Guy Pearce is pretty good in it as the detective, but it's the bad guys who steal the show.

I've got Rabbit Proof Fence sitting in the DVD stack unwatched. Not sure I want to go there. Heard that it's a hard one to watch.

MIB 3 is acceptable. If you like the other Men In Black movies you'll like this one too. It's way better than the second one. Had I known Jemaine Clement played the villain I'd have liked it a bit more, on acount of the fanboi effect. This one leaves out all of the recurring supporting characters from the other ones, which I thought was a good move.

I only watched Trong Legacy about a week ago. As much as I liked the visual style and the musical atmosphere the storyline was just flat out boring shit. Probably better just download the soundtrack than watch the whole thing which they manage to span over two hours.

Think I'll watch The Fall tonight.

Seconding The Proposition. Nick Cave wrote the screenplay and did the music, how can it not be great?

In other McCarthy news, his new screenplay was bought up and Ridley Scott may direct it.

    Yeah like scroll up.

Watched The Grey, was alright for an arvo movie between sleeps.
Wasn't gripping or anything but watchable.

Yeah that movie was great. The last 15-20 minutes of the party were just absolutely insane and hilarious.

Also watched the Prisoners of the Lost Universe Rifftrax. Holy. Shit. Just watch it.
