    Movie Thread (Bearded Cage)

    Hello!

lets talk about upcoming movies and stuff you have seen recently,

last night me and the wife watched blue valentine and the killer inside me

killer inside me has possibly the most uncomfortable 5 mins i have seen in a good while

      Spoiler:
Jessica Alba being slowly punched to death, filmed unflinchingly

    i recommend both films

    blue valentine

    the killer inside me

Best politically incorrect movie ever: The Guard.

Last film I saw at the movies was...whatever the last Harry Potter film is called. It was okay, though the final battle where there's hundreds of wizards shooting hot white magic out of their wands was not meant to be as funny as I found it. 3D was pretty crap, only adding to the bit where
      Spoiler:
    Voldemort dies

Last film I watched was...Zatoichi. It was pretty good, in a "Beat" Takeshi sort of way. Have a pile of Takeshi Kitano film I've been meaning to watch, actually. DVDs are so cheap these days I find myself buying 4+ at a time then only watching one of them.

Saw this, loved it. I'm not familiar with trends in Irish cinema but Brendon Gleeson's character is straight out of Irish fiction. The flawed hero making his way through a mad, dreary world (without the authorial crutch of a dystopian setting.)

I haven't been getting out to movies much lately. Last I saw was The Woman in Black. The theater had the volume cranked up so high the jump-scares were physically painful, and I left the theater with ringing ears. That fact notwithstanding, the atmospheric creepiness of this movie was executed extremely well. I think this is out on DVD already even though I just saw it at an American theater a few weeks ago, so I'll probably be Red Boxing it from the comfort of my apartment, where I am master of the volume controls.

Will be seeing A Separation very soon since there's a local theater that's playing it.

If you don't like indie twee, this movie is definitely not for you, but Submarine is a good one if you're into that sort of thing.

Downloaded 'The Great Dictator' with Charlie Chaplin last night. I saw a clip on youtube when he delivers a speech at the end and decided to watch it in its entirety.

The message is as relevant today as it was then.

It was very good, for a 1940s Classic. 4/5

    I'm actually an '07.

Werner Herzog' latest documentary Into The Abyss was quite chilling and wonderful at the same time.

I haven't seen any good movies lately but I'm fully willing to accept that it's me rather than a lack of said good movies. one my all time favourites (and possibly less main stream): Man on Fire - Fantastic but grim movie by Tony Scott and it's both brutal as endearing, not for the faint of heart but very much worth the time.

Here's my pile of not yet watched DVDs. Been having trouble finding the motivation to sit through a movie lately but still been buying them.

Fair few B-grade movies there since I went through a fad of getting terrible ones to have a laugh at (come to think of it that's probably why I've gone off movies lately).

      Spoiler:

Pick a movie for me to watch FHC.
