Gotcha, so no one moves until everyone hits "end turn", then it processes. That's good.
Anyone else think Pilgrims is a bit ridiculous? So much easier than my last couple games...
pfft
Just go Hissho, +40% dmg on all ships.
And all with die in a glorious laser barrage from your battleships o' win
Take it all back, Sowers are nuts. You rush the luxury research techs because you can land on any planet from the start - getting empire bonuses from 3-4 techs makes your empire explode. And their custom tech of +8 dust (NO REQUIREMENT...this has to be a mistake), +4 tech per moon, +4 food per moon....lets you expand like nuts and have zero tax rate. I've never won by such a huge margin...did a hard twin galaxy with 5 races (including two of your Hissho) and I had a score of 60k, when they had sub 400. Didn't kill anyone, hell I only had one army...I was so strong, they never attacked. In the end I got bored and changed everything to jungles, just so I had over 1000 industry on every system...think I ended with 24.
Amoeba...is so broken in an 8 player game. I understand the game is mostly meant for single player so the balance is what you want to make it, but come on.....even the AI in the hardest setting were dumb enough to befriend me. Zero need for any scouting, you see everything....which means you can trade with anyone. You basically rush to "make peace" and suddenly each system gets masssssive trade bonuses since you'll make out each because of the number of opponents. At one point I had an 8 person alliance for 3 turns....what I want to know is wtf didn't that end the game though. Diplomacy not working as a victory condition?
Anyone up for some multiplayer game? Consistently beating the game on Impossible now, the AI really is bad once ya figure out the game...
Multiplayer is seriously broken atm.
In my last match, my starting constellation had no access to Titanium.
Without being able to build Cruisers or any fancy weapons on dessie, I couldn't break out and take a planet with it.
It seems to me that the planet & resource distribution is pretty unbalanced at this point, even in single player. My starter const had shit systems with 3-4 planets mostly of the shitty varieties, 1 planet with titanium 1 with hyperium. Mean while as Im conquering the shit out of everyone else I finding theyre starter consts had awesome systems with tons of strategic & luxury resources and good planet types.
I was under the impression that your starting system planets (and their mineral/resource wealth) is randomly determined.
Putin 2012
Your home planet is always a large planet of your racial type, but the resources on it & the other planets in the system are random. All I ment is that the overall resource distribution is pretty unbalanced. Then again I guess 2 arms having fuck all in resources and shitty planets & 2 arms having loads of resources and awesome planets is random, it certainly isnt cool from a gameplay perspective.
All the races I have played so far has had Medium starter planets.
And they only changed it so you are guaranteed 2 extra bodies in your home system in last patch. Before that you could start with just a solitary homeworld.
Patches have changed everything.... got serious dust problems in new games. Plays a lot better!
I like the change to the UE - giving +1 dust per person over the 10% or whatever it was makes it so more useful earlier.
Take a look at that system.
All terraformed, pimped out with production thingys. Admin + the tech that does 100% Food to Industry conversion.
Product kept on growing in all those systems.
Have seen similar behaviour on some of my uber industry world, is display bug I think
Sometimes you can queue up loads of ships and it shows 1 1 1 1 1 1 turns. But when you hit turn it only builds 2 or 3 at once then returns to normal. Planets seem to buffer up unused industry it seems, and this lets you builds more ships than normal in one turn. Might also be industry bug.
I bought this game when it first came out on pre purchase on the advice of some corp mates.
After about 30 minutes in and being amazed at how polished it was for an alpha (perhaps SotS 2 has lowered my expectations), I decided that I would put off playing it for a bit because:
a) I quickly get tired of games, even good ones. I have at the most an attention span of 2 weeks for good games even in my favourite genre (which just so happens to be 4x).
b) I felt despite being polished there wasn't much in the way of content, there wasn't much new here (other than how you approach battles, which was a nice suprise) from other 4x games.
If it had been a release I would of said it was a turn based sots, which you know isn't bad, but I also own (and played to death) SoTS. That being said it was only Alpha, so I've decided up until now to leave it alone. I'll be firing up a game tonight if nothing much is happening in Eve, hoping to see some more variation and content as things like interesting diplomacy and cool ship design for me add to the immersive aspect of these games, and I need immersion when playing a 4x, the little hitler in me wants to feel as though I'm sitting at the head of a huge empire struggling against it's competitors, and not just playing a complicated version of a game of Chess.
Overall though I won't begrudge giving money to any developers who want to try and keep this genre alive, so even if I don't end up getting the same enjoyment out of it as others, I'll have let the antichrist market analysts know that we need more of this shit.
You're like a fluffy gerbil sat on a naked woman's crotch, you might think you're looking cool, but everybody else thinks you're a cunt.
Hatepeace after the latest patch they are calling it a beta. 4 more races added, and lots of tweaking. Play it....
The "galaxy" part of this game is what SotS should have been, pity it won't have tactical combat![]()
