why would med students, from all people, think it's a good idea that they give input over the internet?

ffs guys, they guy has been through numerous procedures and doctors, why play "guess the sickness" in here?

    Agreed.

What do we win if we guess correctly?

~ considering nobody professional has identified the cause of his illness yet, maybe those with a little insight are just trying to help with an alternate perspective

    lol

Yeah those damn med students, fuck those guys.

Just got out of my pharm test, so a bit more clear minded...Aea if you want me to present your case to some real doctors (and not those stupid med students), let's get the ball rolling since I go in this Thursday. I think it's worth it since it seems you just want a second opinion.

For me and quite a few of my fellow ms1's, deliberating over a diagnosis is the juice.

While it can be fun, it's also absolutely fruitless without actually seeing the patient, so yeah, aea can and should ignore pretty much any possible diagnosis hypothesis given over the internets and just keep on forcing himself into debt via medicine.

My point was that there's nothing wrong with doing some mental masturbation about a possible diagnosis. While not topical or fair to Aea, it can be interesting. Probably because you're some high-brow ms4 who's actually seen patients, us lowly ms1's have only had paper patients and a standardized one here and there. Not to mention complex symptoms and comorbidities get me hard.

Aea also knows we're all spitballing and is actually seeking real care under the supervision of a licensed physician. If Aea posted a thread detailing some symptoms and hadn't seen a doctor, we would all tell him go see one and leave the speculation for another time.

In that case I request pics of aea: full frontal and backside (naked, naturally), movement tests, a virtual rectal palpation (you can have a buddy stick a finger up your arse and tell us what he felt and show us the finger), movement tests, a reaction video to a full-on kick in the balls, and palpation of the stomach. Oh and you should auscultate your heart and lungs in about 5 spots each and record it.

If we're going into medical masturbation already, then why not do it properly:V. Plus I'm sure Aea has a video or a series of pics to show us right away in any case.

I can't tell, are you kidding? I could talk to you for a half hour about nephro, but ask me how I take my coffee and I'll just stare blankly.

Probably not, I'm pretty sure even Europe focuses on treating the symptoms barring the presence of a clear and proven cure.

For what it's worth the past 3-4 days I've also had very severe dry mouth when waking up with a sore throat. I'm inclined to think the sore throat is acid-related in some way because whenever I lie down I wake up with a throat that hurts like hell.

I remember hearing something about this. It has something to do with the flap that holds the stomach acids in the stomach is not working and that can burn your throat and cause infections etc etc.

(and no I did not google this, I have known this for quite a long time and remember reading it)

GERD, yes that was symptom #1, but Dexilant (on it again) doesn't seem to be affecting it, which it should, like, perfectly.

Maybe it did too much damage the first time round? Like I'm sure the doctor has stuck a probe down your throat and had another look, I am more curious then anything now.

(Not that I don't want you to get better mate, get well soon)

With the experience from my one week battlefield first aid course, I have concluded that Aea is suffering from Kuru.

Had a random, "Wonder how Aea is doing?" thought over mah tea this morning. Can't imagine what prompted it but:

How you doing Aea? Any further news on this baffling malady?
