    Plexing in Blood Space

I've spent the last few months flying around the northern regions plexing to my hearts content in a pair of Ishtars with a Loki to scout/probe. While this has been relaxing, I missing the alliance life and pew pew opportunity. I'm after a combination for my ships that can take on most plexs in the south.

I have three chars and I'd like to be fairly independent, i.e. I can fly around for a week without having to head home except to drop off loot.

Char 1: Minmatar/Caldari T2/3 cruisers/bcs - also main pvp character so would need to be able to get home fairly easily
    Char 2: Gallente/Amarr T2/3 cruisers/bcs
Char 3: Gallente T2 cruisers (Logi 4 but Onieros isn't too hard to fit)

Ideally I'd like about 800-900 dps, which is what I have currently between the two Ishtars, but I guess less is manageable.

Would I be best avoiding Blood Raider space and heading to either Sansha space or Fountain? I think the Ishtar would be able to tank either place better, but it does mean having to travel back constantly to join gangs.

Blood space plexes are doable in a full passive nighthawk. Train those EM and therm shield comps to 5 and get yo nighthawk on and you can run the DEDs no problem. Tengu can work too but you need a scimi or something to rep it as otherwise the neuting will fuck you over in some of them.

domi + geddon combo works tested with 6 and 7/10 supposedly also with 8 and 9/10 but 10/10 will require a dedicated tank, a damnation worked best in my experience. The same domi & geddon combo also pretty much does all combat sites except the last stage of provincial hq and ofcourse temple ( fuck that shit ) . for provincial hq you usually drop a carrier in and ninja it.

aim at atleast 1.5k dps, any thing less and it becomes a real pita to kill some bosses .

I'm thinking about going for a passive Nighthawk/Vulture with an Oracle for dps. A tach fitted Oracle can throw out nearly 800dps and the NH/Vulture seem to be able to tank a lot. Seems like a little easier to get around than a Domi/Geddon combo (which I've used to run anoms down there).

dunno if it's still viable, but a few years ago i used to get aggro and tank in an ABing AF (jaguar) and just orbit some npc with nos running, then dps with whatever the fuck i had lying around.

look here you amateurs you take one hospital domi with sentrys and one double plated munnin with em therm resists for buff.
Munnin for small shit (25m3 drone bandwidth) and your domi for DPS and reps.
Kill only what you need to kill and rinse repeat.
You take anything active tanked into a blood plex and you are just going to melt.

Nah not much mate just core x-types in 10/10 with bpc's or corpum a-type eanm's in 6/10's worth 1.2b

But yeah don't do the temple it sucks for the effort to reward ratio.

Grabbing agro no longer works post retribution

Grabbing aggro on one ship no longer works since the retribution patch introduced auto target switching.

Now adays the weakest ship will get attacked by the npc. Plus neuting is bad on blood raiders.

haven't done a crimson hand supply depot [6/10] since the new AI changes. i used to just throw in my alt first, in a passive shield gila, then join in with my main in a pvp buffer tengu. in the third room with the big tower that webs and shoots torps, the gila would take the tower aggro and i'd bump it towards the next gate with the tengu to speed things along.

wondering what i should do different now. certain battleship rats in the third room are the only ones that really do neuting, but you warp in at range, and i need enough dps to take down the crimson lord which requires around ~900dps or so.

alt was specifically trained for the gila, so it has max drone skills, alright missile skills and gallente/caldari/minmatar cruiser 5, but doesn't fly any tech II cruisers. except for the tengu my main pretty much exclusively flies minmatar.

interested in what 1-2 ship combos other people use for this.

Active Tengu plus gank Oracle for the Overlord. Even webbed, the Tengu will get to the 3rd room gate by the time it kills all rats there and Oracle comes in a bit earlier, helping the Tengu to finish off the rats, and gets to the gate unwebbed.

Except for the part, as mentioned 4 times in this fucking thread alone, where new AI blows up the gank Oracle because AI doesn't just focus one target anymore.

Sorry I didn't make it clear enough. The Tengu clears rooms 1&2 by itself and starts working on room 3, keeping distance to avoid neuts. When there are, say, 5 BS left the Oracle comes in as well, helps the Tengu finish them off and gets to the acceleration gate. When I did that, the webbing tower did not agress the Oracle so it got to the gate quickly.

Neut/Web/DPS towers don't switch targets unless their target goes out of range.

converted my HML tengu to HAMs and i'm training my alt into a bailisk, so i'm going to try using that.

javelins can still hit out to 40-50k and still do HML dps, then you can switch to rage for the lord.

i think this should be able to solo it actually. tried to break the lord with my pvp setup with 3 BCUs and scourge rage and was just a little too low in dps, but with a 4th BCU and another launcher, it'll handle it pretty easily i think. plenty of range to keep distance from neuting battleships. over 500dps blood raider tank.

also heard apocs with a micro jump drive work well, but haven't seen a fit.

i've also found that rats don't ever bother targeting sentry drones, so i'm doing blood annex with my passive gila as i always have.
