Some would disagree. See Chaffee and AMX12t.

(4)A Hummel is an Arty, it is not a TD. Stop rolling with the heavies you moron.
Some of the most hilarious kills I've had in the Hummel have been by sneaking through town and blasting some unsuspecting heavy or tank destroyer in the ass. Granted, I usually start the battle in arty mode and this transpired before the last arty nerf.

(10)Your VK3601 is not a heavy, stop trying to tank shots. Move damnit.
Isn't this tank becoming a heavy at some point? I'm not sure if this will be accompanied by a change in stats.

(15)If your tank cannot go faster than 20km up a hill, never ever, under any circumstance, go up the hill on Himmelsdorf. EVER.
    I wholeheartedly agree.

Chaffee and 12t are still scouts.
They just are lucky enough to have firepower too.

Anyway, if anyone were to whine and say "WTF am i doing here????" while in a Chaffee they are obviously fucking retarded.
Sure if the entire enemy team consisted of Maus' i could see a complaint. Otherwise no.

Regarding scout designation, IMHO, it pretty much depends on the team layout. Sure, if there are a couple T-50s or T-50-2s, a Chaffee or the AMX tanks can act more of a support DPS. However, if there is no other tank with better scouting capability, such as in all heavy + some medium composition, or the T-50s/T-50-2s decide to suicide scout 30 seconds into the game, then a Chaffee/VK2801/AMX lights would have to pick up their role, as they are now in the best tank that can spot for their teammates and artys. They still have better mobility and view range than all heavies and most mediums after all.

As for VK3601, who knows when WG will come around and actually turn it into a heavy. The last word heard regarding VK3601 turning into a heavy from the devs was "in the future". I would guess that there will be some stat tweaking in that process however, as otherwise it will be the least armored and most undergunned tier 6 heavy if that's the case.

Even then it'd only apply to a city map. Open maps (especially with bushes) Chaffee is an awesome scout, even if you never fire a shot.

It also depends on what you define by "scouting". If you want me to "scout" 4 tanks just waiting for me to show on the west side/on the top of the hill in middle of prokhorovka (like most of the bads playing this game) I will tell you to go fucing die yourself.

actually I may do a chaffee tutorial after I get my 6950 (ffs it's 4 weeks already give it back)

Some equate scouting as spotting tanks and dying so the rest of the team can shoot at them. I don't think any of the tier 5 lights are amenable to that play style. They cost too damn must to repair to be suicidal. The AMX12t is disposable if need be, but wouldn't you rather have that burst damage when some TXX tank is hull down on you later on in the match? The AMX can just ninja around and assassinate him.

Scouting involves you spotting vehicles so the rest of your team can shoot them more than once.
Scouting also means lighting targets multiple times when arty are ready.

Running over the field in Malinovka, spotting 7 tanks and dying is not scouting, that's being a fucking retard.
I'm ok with scouts suiciding if it means they are getting Arty killed...then i will forgive. Otherwise you are a complete waste of space.

The vk36 is actually pretty good at sitting still and dealing damage from a distance. Its pretty much two to three shot death for anything tier five and below. Where it excels however is in a semi scout semi heavy support medium. Its damn effective at detracking, harassing, playing bait for arti / td's and generally being a pain in the ass to tier 8 up to make them easier targets for your own higher tiers. You can very easily turn the tide in a high tier vs high tier battle this way. Its also quite forgiving with enough armor and hitpoints to take a hit if you make a mistake.

I think Jindo was talking about the ones that don't flank or hide at all and just sit out in the open and brawl with T29s and Tigers. I've seen it happen plenty of times. I think the syndrome is that they think it will bounce anything either because they couldn't ever pen one in another tank or are used to stomping lower tiers with it so they just shoot away.

I think I know what you are trying to say, but the bold part was bad. :P

Might as well of said "its a semi scout semi heavy arty TD derp hull down semi brawler sniper support medium."

Also the vk36 is very lolz with the golden gun. I played about 30 games with it and almost broke 70% win solo queue.

In the old ages, we called that an "Allrounder". Says it all and saves a lot of typing ...

Here's another one: practice switching between first- and third-person views (I generally use the shift key to switch views, but many of the replays seem to stick with the mouse wheel). Third person lets you look around, drive more easily, and gives you good tactical awareness, while first person is what you should generally use when you want to aim for weakspots / lead a target / hit something.

Hold right mouse button to lock your gun when you're popping in and out from behind cover so your barrel doesn't start giving nazi salutes, and you don't have to spend double the time exposed trying to re-aim. You moron.
