Will be interesting to see how it develops, since drone alloys are long from gone. Will still be a few weeks/months till this patch hits (unless this is put into crucible 1.5?).

The only people buying now were those who take the word of a chaos build dump.

Those people moved 323 million units in 12 hours.

If CCP makes an official statement/devblog about the changes, it will be huge.

CCP statement will make little difference, there's only one way for zyd to go now and that's down.

Unless, of course, they decide to put the change in Cruicible 1.5 (which is rather unlikely).

Never done speculation, but I would appreciate reports on how it went some time down the line from people who bought once the hype had been out for a while.

How about I give you two recent examples with different situations.

    Nocx and AF's.

I forget the exact details and I deleted all my spreadsheet history from incarna rage but mineral supply was rebalanced through drop changes (less meta 0) and insurance being pegged to mineral values. Nocx was an under appreciated bottleneck, like most minerals there are people sitting on huge quantities of it, both in goods that can be bought and reproc'd. Those in the know stockpiled it (it was 250ish) and the price eventually climbed up. People panic about it and spread mis information about how its a manip attempt so that other will dump their stockpiles and they can get on the bandwagon for a reasonable price, those truely in the know are lying and telling everyone to buy because they bought it at 250ish or have a basic stockpile of everything (no real reason to have 20b sitting in wallet instead of goods). Nocx goes to 600ish because hurr durr buy it now its going to go through the roof. Money is made buying up nocx in remote areas/reproc'ing items for it. People settle down and it drops to its new amount 500ish.

Basically you have people making a quick buck off of panic and redistributing things quickly because of a new price and panic/manipulation causing what should be a steady climb to be volatile and look unsustainable. For every position someone takes (buying/selling) someone must take the opposite. This is what makes forum posting powerful on the markets. This is why TV shows telling everyone to invest in real estate devastates the world economy. You need people raging over how they have to buy something quickly as the price rises to make more money than you would reasonably selling off your stockpile.

Af's/crucible, everything is purely speculation driven and you see a much different trend. No one says anything they just buy and relist all the fotm items at a high price. Prices crash terribly when the fotm wears out because little johnny couldn't unload the 9000 retributions he bought thinking they would be popular. People with patience or liquidity buy these and business goes back to normal.

    We will see what happens.

Does anyone have any spreadsheets from the pre-drone regions days? If I remember right Zydrine was around 3000 ISK p/u back then? Are we going to see a return to those numbers?

Plex prices aren't going to come down. How hard is it to accept that more people are making more isk more easily than ever whilst at the same time there's a worldwide economic situation causing more dolies with nothing better to do than whore isk for 2 bucks an hour and fewer willing to spend extra cash?

Plex are going to cross that half a bill mark this year and once they do, they're never going to go under it.

You realize this is said every summer right? and professor eggnog said ccp has planned measures to keep plex within ~secret~ acceptable ranges right?

You also realize this is historically the worst time of year to buy plex and it can go down in price while keeping an over all upward trend right?

Zydrine has just gone through the floor again after the latest pastbin. People are dumping millions on the market at sub 1k isk, lots of people gonna lose a LOT of isk if they bought in while zyd was 1400+...

I wish I had a crystal ball like you. Hey, you could be right, though. So be it. CCP accepted responsibility for keeping the price within an undefined magical threshold, and as far as I'm concerned, the ball is in their court still. Keeping tabs on Eve with FHC and shitposting about it is almost as much fun as playing the game.

no way CCP would allow anything resembling inflation to happen to their beloved mineral prices/T1 production

i sold/reprocessed everything useless and was massively surprised how much i got for it....

And this is why EVE is cool.

Is there any reason we can't let PLEX hit whatever price? Or is it just ~I play with PLEX, don't shit in my sandbox!~

Zydrine is risky buy... if you want to invest safely and gain 20%-30% profit inside few months, go for nocxium instead. May not be that glorious but much better buy atm.
