This, no point blowing your wad on a first bike, get something cheap that works then a few months down the line you'll know if you have really got the bug and have a better idea of exactly which kind of bike(s) you need.
Also if your tight on money wait for the post xmas sales, stoopid deals about then as stores clear last years stock.

Oh my WOW!
Fuck me sideways, that was amazing. I'd shit my pants with a falcon chasing me, really.

Today's ride wasn't fun, one minute I was fine, the next I was exhausted falling multiple times in places I had never Imagined I could fall, being dumb / stubborn instead of heading home I did the track over again hoping to do better and obviously it could only get worse, I only ended with a lot of scratches and bruises but I can't wait to try and get out of bed tomorrow.
Went to the state park with a friend today, 20 miles there and back. He had a proper road bike and it was amazing to ride. Now looking for a used road bike on craigs list B)
I'm sure it's frustrating to be sperging about how someone said "no, not doing that yet" - but we've had 7 years to learn to pace ourselves after killing a block. And I dare say -- we've gotten quite good at it.
Sorry if it doesn't suit the armchair generals who have never committed to anything for more than 2 months, but by now we've learned that we really don't give a shit about what you think v0v.
