This is extremely rapid by Cuusoo standards; there are Back To The Future and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic designs and concepts, some fully fleshed out, that have been there for months and aren't even at 5,000.
Pony loving lego builders sounds like one of the most niche subset of humanity. You've probably got votes there from 90% of interested people *hides*

Anyway, its a cool project but my cynicism says

    1) inb4 'lego rifter now available exclusively from the nex store!'

    2) Omg when I voted there was no suggestion that the thing would cost money!

lego said it will be part of a quarterly review in june, and then (if it gets the final OK) probably a few months after that.

We already have fully molded (and very nice) BS models. I really don't get what's so great about a LEGO Rifter, particularly when it's a specialized kit meaning you can't make anything but a Rifter.

Because you get to build it, not just look at it. Plus lego nostalgia

And then the drones don't obey your commands.

And for merely 3 PLEX you can buy a additional string, which you can put on the Rifter, hold it up and ... voila.. RL ship spinning...

Edit: who knows after the Rifter, LEGO might finally release their 4 bonus boxes containing the blocks to change your own bedroom into your personal RL qq ...... if only

We shouldn't count our chickens yet. Apparently it's still possible to fail the review process if Lego doesn't think the model is in line with Lego's corporate image. They rejected a Shaun of the Dead model. They might reject an Eve model if they actually do any research into the Eve community.
