I don't know if any of the SOMER leadership people made it over to this forum or not, but on the chance that someone did, I have a question:

I just got my girlfriend into playing blink as well, but it won't let her play in any promo blinks. I think maybe this is because she's on the same IP address as me. Is there any way around this? She is somewhat sad.

Actually tried that, it wouldn't let her do promos, even if I hadn't entered that one. I guess you can't play promos from an IP address that has ever had a promo played by a different character.

Girlfriend's account has been "promo banned", because the server assumes that you're trying to cheat and to boost your own odds of a promo win.

Mail Somerset Mahm directly ingame, explain your situation and ask nicely, and she'll probably fix it.

Bolt got it exactly right - there's a few different automated systems that try to prevent cheating on promos, and sometimes they do flag legitimate usage. Just shoot Somerset Mahm an evemail with both char names and an explination and she'll get you sorted right out.

Pro-tip for someone who doesn't actually want to play blink:

- Deposit 500 million isk into blink, get 60 mil more blink credit via achievements
- Buy all 16 tickets to a Carrier Skillbook megablink. Costs: 496 mil blink credit. Take the isk buyout, receive 450 mil isk
- For playing that blink, you should get 19m more achievement credit (play a blink = 1m, win a blink = 1m, win a blink that took less than 20 seconds = 5m, play a megablink = 2m win a megablink = 10m)
- You are now 50 mil isk in the hole and have 83 mil blink credit.
- Buy all 8 tickets to a fed navy web. Costs: 80 mil blink credit. Take the isk buyout, receive 63.6 million isk.

Net profit: 13.6 mil isk, time elapsed: ~3 minutes, 272 milllion isk/hr!

I'd recommend playing by the rules and only doing it once. I say 272 mil isk/hr as a way of confirming that it is worth your 3 minutes to do it.
