Sarcasm aside, it's pretty terribad. Getting Server 2012 RC to see what's up. Otherwise, 7 Ultimate x64 should hold on just fine until Windows 9. Unless they poop DX 12 or something like that that's only available on 8.

Wait, what exactly in the start menu where you using to manage your servers?

You know, the software..

Now I realize this might not seem like a big deal, but the start menu represents more than just the place where all the software goes. Get a VM of 2012 and try and check the system logs for errors, and then restart the server. Now its all possible once you work out how, but its jumping through needless hoops to do it.

Or even better, try and bring up a command prompt. I'm pretty sure the Win+R combo didn't work anymore as there is no run dialog (that or virtual box didn't translate it properly, which is always a possibility).
