This is what I told a colleague that took up the offer when it was free:

Pick someone in Ireland, marry off all your family members and courtiers to vassals, neighbors and the English, then start conquering the island. Then work your way into England, either by having an heir to the throne be of your family, or by brute force (gl with that).
    nevar forget

i got utterly lost in the tutorial after the "get married" part
I was somewhere around Old Man Star, on the edge of Essence, when drugs began to take hold.

Sit down and watch a beginner advice stream. I think paradox did one themselves, even?
You'll still be learning in a few years, so never fear.

I think that's intended to keep the number of NPCs within reason. IIRC they were really slowing the game down if they multiplied like rabbits.

isn't this what assassinations and diseases are for? idk my i7 can take more independent NPCs probably

I always end up marrying my entire court anyway and the number more or less keeps up with the growth of the state/armies.

Yeah, I understood that the diseases (esp. the Black Death) were intended to curb the number of NPCs. I marry everyone in my dynasty too, not the random useless courtiers though. I also think the processors of today could take more independent NPCs but then again, I look at Stellaris and how it slows down to a crawl in the endgame and reconsider...

    Viking, n.:
    1. Daring Scandinavian seafarers, explorers, adventurers, entrepreneurs world-famous for their aggressive, nautical import business, highly leveraged takeovers and blue eyes.
    2. Bloodthirsty sea pirates who ravaged northern Europe beginning in the 9th century.

Hagar's note: The first definition is much preferred; the second is used only by malcontents, the envious, and disgruntled owners of waterfront property.
