I like how he explains maos, the team composition and at the end has a "What we should remember" and so on, pretty pro editing as well. I still wish more people would explain how they decide what path to take, that's my biggest problems, being at the right place and the right time.

I wish Death had pointed out that packing the low pass on Cliff is a bad idea. It's implied that taking the hill is desirable by the way he describes the choke points, but he specifically comments at the beginning of the battle to say the low road must be covered, and that the middle hill area is susceptible to artillery fire. Most games I lose on this map, my team has packed the low road with too many tanks which is surest recipe for disaster because they always get brave in numbers and start to push into the meat grinder. When I try to argue with my team that not controlling the middle is a blunder, they love to point out how vulnerable the low road is and how much it needs protection. I don't agree that it needs much protection. If I had a choice I would sit one scout tank there, and possibly a strong TD like Ferdi or T28 in a rear guard position, while putting the rest of the team on the hill, especially starting from the South. If the other team is stupid enough to push low road, and my team has control of the hill, we will obliterate them. I think I've only lost one game that I can recall by a low road flag cap push, and it was from the North where the attackers get a lot of cover from buildings.

Rans: You've seen a lot of my replays to know that I'm a creature of habit, and I usually stick with what works most of the time. I have one or two starting areas picked out on each side of the map in the game, and 90% of the time, I'll start in one of those places. The rest of the game is just reacting to how the enemy has positioned itself. Starting from a strong forward position can often be a gamble because you won't have a lot of warning if 10 tanks are bearing down on you. The more mobility you have, the more options you have. Running away and regrouping, while not something I often think to do, can be a maneuver that ultimately wins the game.

i dont see why you would want it. Its obstructive and irritating tbh..

Also lost count of how many times he should have died that first game tbh... Not a great showcase and he didnt comment on a lot of important elements.

I have all ingame reticule/markers DISABLED for this reason.
The 7.1 Jimbo's aiming dot marker["white dot"], with "minimal" sniper mode and arty reticule["full"] with auto-enabled server reticule[cyan], is absolute bliss.

Also kills those damn T-50-2s at 300m.

Been using these for several months now, and they are epic. Although in sniper mode WG's shit "dispersion indicator" is trying to override my white dot. -_-

I can't agree with not spotting the enemy team asap. Knowing which path they are blobbing silly is just as useful for your medium/arty to exploit. And instead of helping 1 tank, you, it helps possibly 3 tanks, and 3 tanks cap/win much better than 1 in pubbies.

Capping to make enemies pull back from frontlines is also something that needed explanation.
Get that counter to 30-50 and watch as they race back, while you race away...even making them rotate their turrets around in concern is a free shot into their side.
Or they can do a hasty push[INCREDIBLY BAD DECISION] and fumble in front of your defenders.

At least I'm learning some more nasty tricks, like Tordin rounding corners wider than I thought. Very excellent for giving me that extra upper hand.

My random nasty tip[in your mum]: When you are about to be rammed to death, rotate one of your track pontoons forward while reversing. The track will sometimes break FIRST and absorb a slow speed ram from a bigger tank.
Then you can shoot them in their neckring at point blank range.

    ---------------------

Glad to see DeathsArrow analyzes each map with the same LoS and push predictions I use. But he has to stress the importance of pushing for critical areas[height/areas beyond open ground that you can not recover if lost to enemy].
Most pubbie battles are decided in the first 30seconds. And it's due to people not playing their roles to grab certain well-known vantage points.[Campinovka is not a hard map! MINES IS NOT A TOWN/ISLAND PUSH FFS!]

Sad to see he's left VPG. Never got to play with him iirc. But I will be arty nuking you as soon as you are spotted.[normally reserved for VPG members/arty and other nonshit red dots. See you on the battlefield, space cowboy, checkmate. o7]

    ---------------

Xiang: stop playing HVYs without reading the wiki...
Play meds to learn capping/Offense/tracking higher tier principles.
Play TDs/arty to learn target prioritization/Defense.
Play scouts to learn spotting/sniping LoS
Play HVYs when you have to raise your WR because of these goddamn pubbie filth assholes!/angling from the wiki.

What's the difference between server side reticle and not?

Capslock + zero key, after the timer ends, pulls up the reticule used by the Devs.

It tells you were the server believes your bullet is. So if your lag/server hiccup, you use only the blue one to shoot with.
The game reticule lags behind by about 2-4ms it looks like. That can be the difference from losing your arty to a sui-scout and winning the game.

Aye, my first love (post-beta, in beta it was arty) was German mediums, namely the DB and 3001P, and to a lesser extent the Pz IV. I catch myself sometimes playing Russian heavies like medium tanks, and the concept of hull angling is still a little foreign to me. Although, I've done pretty well with the Porsche Tiger. Is Tordin taking a break from teaching tank school? I've got a IS-3 replay from before the last patch (7.3) that I wouldn't mind some analysis on to see if I've improved. I can't remember if I uploaded it to the replay thread or not. It was an Erlenberg game.

I can't seem to play any of my 7.2 replays with the 7.3 client, so they fucked it up again. GG, Wargaming, I had some good KV action in there. I haven't played at all since the 7.3 patch. Way to motivate me to start playing again.

Edit: I really wish they would implement a system so you could flag a limited number of battles to be saved server side for easy sharing to be viewed on their website or inside the client. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to watch any battle again from my hard drive, but this incompatibility bullshit has to stop.

I finally found it: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php...11508980697158 (requires 7.2 client to play) IS-3 Erlenberg West Spawn Draw. Watching this for the third time, I feel like a played way too defensively, and mismanaged my time at the end. I could have probably been more aggressive in the final three minutes.
