All the legal moonshines come in mason jars, Junior Johnson Midnight Moon is also really good. Can't beat Popcorn's though, its the real deal from a true American Moonshiner http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Popcorn_Sutton
I wanted to post about lagavulin, looks like someone else already did
So im gonna post about lochnagar, even though one could consider it a sacrilege, I actually like it mixed with red Bull simply cola (don't know if you guys can get it wherever you're living, it's a cola made by red Bull company without using any artificial stuff,
So, based on recommendations in this thread and elsewhere, I picked up the Glenfiddich 15y Solera Reserve. It is far and away better than the 12y, I'm quite glad I did. It wasn't even significantly more expensive.
Spoiler:
Can definitely recommend, I don't pretend to understand all the flavors well enough to give a proper review but I do know it's a new favorite at this price point. I got it for about $50.
+1 for one of my favourites. The Glenfiddich 15 was the second single malt I ever bought (after a Talisker 10) and it I had exactly that same "I do not know enough words to describe what just happened in my mouth, but it was amazing" response to it. It's a world apart from the underwhelming Glenfiddich 12.
So on the heels of the light, delicious, almost wine-like Glenfiddich 15, I decided to dive into another Islay.
I ended up with the Bowmore 15 darkest sherry cask finished shenanigans. It looked good and at about 3/4 the cost of that Lagavulin, won't starve me until the next paycheck.
Spoiler:
I gotta say, I like it better than the Lagavulin 16 I tried. When I poured a bit, let it sit, and then took a whiff, I wanted to dump it in my nose straightaway. Thankfully, I came to my senses and put it in my mouth instead. It's smokey and hearty in every way the Glenfiddich 15 is sweet and light. Utterly fantastic, going to be hard to nurse this for more than a couple weeks. I can definitely see myself getting more, or perhaps trying one of the similar Bowmores I saw on the shelf.
edit: Also pictured, some Johnnie Walker I didn't like nearly as much. Shouldn't have told my roommate to get that instead of more Glenfiddich 15.

Don't try the other Bowmores, they aren't worth it. They all have a really annoying and strong taste of lemons. The 12y is fine I guess because of how cheap it is, but I won't buy another one.
My latest purchase:
Spoiler:
One of the best I've had so far (not saying much).

Powers and Paddys are two solid whiskeys, it's hard to get exposure against Jamesons and Bushmills though
Pretty cool..

<&QuackBot> Fuggin: There once was a man named tugginfuggin. He oft tugged his fuggin. That is the tale of tugginfuggin.

my recent holiday to Egypt yielded 2 more 1ltr bottles of 14yo Glengoyne for £40 each
So goooooooood.....
I'm not a girl, and I don't know what a "Mendolorian" is.. I think it might be a self healing car that travels through time.
I was part of a society that ran biannual whisky tastings, i still go back for them they're that good. We typically get to try 9-10 whiskys and have about 25-30 people turn up to share them, this was a photo from the "bang for buck" tasting with an interesting whisky from india (amrut) and a 'cheap' 50 year old glen grant (think it was about £140). The pure grain whisky, hedonism, was actually really good, odd as grain spirit usually carries little to no character
