Will start with the obvious:
Will start with the obvious:
Cerebral Jam FTW
The original singer is great too.
Loreena McKennit is awesome:
Melissa Ferlaak is great:
As is Simone Simons:
And Fabienne Gondamin:
The Baltimore Consort has some excellent singers. Danielle Svonavec and José Lemos are great.
@Peregrinus
Just a personal taste and not disputing the voices, but its just a bit too "clean" a sort of music for my liking. No offence intended.
@Stoffl
Mark Langegan I knew only from QotSA songs. I like listen to his voice just as I like listen to Tom Waits.
Anyway, some ladies:
And in a bit of stretch of the thread intentions but certainly a singer/songwriter.... and so damn sexy (look at that sexy smile at the end)
Thread named awesome voices without Mike Patton, Freddie Mercury or Phil Collins?

Gerry Rafferty - pitch perfect voice and he once had Billy Connelly as a band mate.
Could add Kate Bush but which song to choose?
Ya'll need to put your shit under spoilers.
Way back in the day, when I was still young and just starting college, I was a confused little kid that wanted to no longer be alive. I bought a cd on a lark because I liked the cover. The first song moved me to the point of tears and made me hold off my plans of not-living-anymore. 11 years later I'm still not dead and that band has only gotten better and better.
Spoiler:
Folk music's Janis. Sandy Denny. (Only girl who ever guest starred on a Led Zep track)

There was also, more or less from the same mileu, Steeleye Span. If Sandy was the English Janis, Maddie was the English Joan Baez, a plain girl who was somehow sexy as fuck, with aircooled teeth and a vibrato that could kill you stone dead.
