Mono (Japan) and Russian Circles are good but they're a little harder in the post rock genre -- a bit more like GYBE than explosions in the sky. I love EITS but GYBE is probably #2 or #3 of all-time favorite bands so I tend to lean toward the harder stuff. Can forget Red Sparrowes. Goddamned good stuff there.

God is an Astronaut is awesome. Funny thing is I discovered them while watching some eve vids where someone used them as soundtrack. Great band.

Not sure if these qualify as Post-Rock and there isn't an all encompassing 'Indie' thread so dropping these here:

I don't know much post-rock, but I do like Toe. Maybe because they seem to be quite centred around the drums (and their drummer is, unsurprisingly, really good).

      Spoiler:

I absolutely love the way this tune is mixed. I've never heard anything like it before.

From the same album, but it's a great album (The Book About My Idle Plot On A Vague Anxiety lol post-rock names)

Big everyone in this thread. I've enjoyed pretty much everything that's been posted.

Here's some prog rock kind of stuff which I really like. I'm not really into the overly-wanky prog rock, and I've tried to keep it to my favourite tunes that incorporate a lot of soundscape and textural elements, so hopefully it should appeal some people here. If not, then no dramas really.
      Spoiler:

Porcupine Tree - Russia On Ice. One of my favourite tunes ever. It's incredibly melancholic, which I think makes it really fucking beautiful. I can't help but get absorbed in the sound every time I hear it.

King Crimson - Starless. Another one of my favourite tunes ever. I was debating whether to include this, but I really want to share it.

A couple of bits from the Omar Rodriguez-Lopez group.
In the first tune, everything seems to devolve into chaos and then come together again just at the right moment. I fucking love it. I also have a hard on for the drumming of Deantoni Parks, who is ludicrously skilled.

You could always just buy the album, or even pirate it because Spotify doesn't pay shit to any of the artists anyway.

Just ordered this.... probably a bit pastoral for this thread if your view on 'post-rock' is fixed in the louder side of things but I always liked Rick Rizzo and The For Carnations work and this reminds me of that sparse bass/folk stuff...

If that's too quiet for you this new band Telepathy have a free E.P. out that reminds me of a lot of gigs I used to go to 15 years ago...

Sorry, I don't really do youtube links.

Your command of deliberate, convincingly bad English is amazing.

My country kick is over and I'm back into post-rock.

Been digging *shels a lot lately, here's Journey to the Plains

      Spoiler:

I also like my post-rock with string instruments, The Ascent of Everest - Alas Alas! The Breath of Life!

      Spoiler:

Yeah, the drummer sucks but the guitar hook is maddeningly awesome, Pelican - Glimmer

    Post rock...welcome to the 90's

I wish, there's some good stuff here but it's rock, not much different from the other rock (unless you're american). I like but it's not new, post rock, just like the old rock;/
