So, picked a few things up, thought I'd ramble about them here. First and foremost: Mind.in.a.box Revelations Clubmixes. Been listening to it a bit, not sure if I like it as much as their earlier work, specifically, the 'Certainty' and 'What Used to Be' CDMs for their dancier stuff. The only remix I really liked this time around was 'Cause and Effect', which IMO, had one of the cooler intros on the album.

Moving along, I decided on a whim to pick up Rotersand's 'War on Error' EP from iTunes. Speaking generally, I love Rotersand's work, and I REALLY like their EPs (except 'I Cry', I actually prefer the 1023 LP in that instance). Between this one, and the 'Waiting to be Born' EP, there are some excellent tracks standouts in my mind being "Waiting to be Born: Rework" and "Dirty" (special mention for "Kill them all: Lullalby ver", Rotersand has some cool acoustic/piano work).

Now then, the meat and potatoes here: Combichrist. I'm not sure how I feel about this particular group. I'd heard some of their remixes here and there, but I didn't really hear their work until I saw "Sent to Destroy" on Youtube. Now, I like their remixes (usually), I think 'Today We Are All Demons' is an ok album, and I just don't care for anything they put out before that album. Now however, I just started listening to 'Making Monsters', and it's MUCH better than anything else they've put out IMO. Now, I know Combichrist and Icon Of Coil were both started by Andy Le..yeh. So, for anyone who's listened to both (and specifically Making Monsters), should I go out of my way to pick up any of the old Icon of Coil stuff?

Shallow Nation (I) and Serenity is the Devil (II) are great, I'll have to relisten to Machines are Us (III), though, because I don't remember much of it.

      Spoiler:

    Alright, synthpop time.

      Spoiler:

    Pretty catchy, awesome synths

In other news, I just bought my pass for

Finally listened to Machines are Us all the way through. I have to agree, it's good stuff (and now I see why some have said Making Monsters sounds like more of an Icon of Coil album than a Combichrist album). Big ups, will check the youtube later.

Yet another remix of this classic

I've been listening a lot to Grendel's new album, Timewave Zero, I'm not sure what to think of it so far.
This is easily my favorite song from it:

I would say that in general it lacks distinctive songs, apart from a few exceptions they're all too similar.

      Spoiler:

And One's keyboards pretty much have the perfect tone.

And One's cover of what is possibly the most influential song ever recorded. Now with 100% more German.

Getting in the mood for tonight, here's one song per band that will be playing.

      Spoiler:

Noise band, not really my cup of tea

I have a lot of catching up to do, but I'll quickly write down how the bands were before I forget.

Alright, so every night starts at 7PM and it's pretty much non stop music and dancing until 3AM. The times are only the official reference ones.

    06:30pm Projekt F
I was on the balcony, drinking and they sounded pretty meh, the distortion and the place I was at made it all sound like a wall of noise. The singer is pretty good as long as he sticks to screaming.

    07:35pm Adversary
    Great! Very dancy and DnB-y.

    09:50pm Nachtmahr
Great show, I love how they stick to their 40's/Germany theme. They had 2 gorgeous girls on stage just standing there, being pretty and old '40s videos on the screen.

    08:40pm Orphx
Alright, they really went overkill on the bass and it was maybe a little bit boring.

    11:10pm winterkaelte
They didn't get to play so Nachtmahr and Combichrist played longer and Orphx played after Nachtmahr instead of before.

    12:30am Combichrist
Great, but not OMGAMAZING like I was expecting.

    01:55am E-Craft
Awesome surprise for the last show of the night, dancy and powerful, maybe the best band of Thursday, too bad many people left after Combichrist.

    Day 2

Sorry for the lack of pictures, because of the lighting it's really hard to get something decent.

    06:30pm Cenotype
I woke up at 3PM that day so I was having dinner while they were playing, sorry!

    07:30pm Shiv-R
I don't like their stuff, but they were better live. Synthy and dancy.

    08:35pm Klangstabil
WOW. I had never heard of them and they blew me away. Great stuff. It's dance music made with loops of noise, it was really good. EDIT: I just listened to some of their stuff on youtube and it sounded totally different live.

    09:35pm Hypr
It was just a 15min show and I think it was people from the bands of the night fooling around raping pop music with industrial beats and screaming. I wish it would have been longer because it was awesome.

    10:05pm Grendel
HOLY SHIT, best performance by far, they really raised the bar.

    11:20pm Haujobb
Pretty good and I think the singer was disappointed about how he wasn't able to get people to go crazy as much as Grendel did! He actually commented on how it took them 36 hours to get here and that we better get moving like for Grendel even if they're "old farts".

    12:35am Panzer AG
Somewhat disappointing except for the last song. They took ABBA's Gimme Gimme and tore it to pieces.
That video really doesn't give it justice, it's lacking all the bass, most of the synths and all the powerful beat.

    02:00am Heimataerde
I was too tired after dancing like a madman for over 6 hours and I went to sleep early.

Overall it was better than Day 1.

    Day 3

My expectations were lower for Saturday (yesterday) because most of the bands weren't really my cup of tea.

    06:30pm Aliceffekt
It was surprisingly good, they got the floor moving.

    07:35pm End.User
DnB-y, great stuff, more dancing was had.

    08:40pm C-Lekktor
The synth and distortion were so loud that I could barely hear the singer but damn, powerful stuff.

    09:50pm FGFC820
Most of the songs didn't sound as good as on the albums, but they more than made up for it with amazing stage energy and for the last song they invited people on stage and I went. That was yesterday and so far there's only 2 videos on Youtube, but here's the best one, I'll update this post when/if I find a better one later.

BEST 5 minutes of the festival by far, it was incredible. As usual that video loses all the bass and the beat that makes it amazing.

    11:10pm Noisex
DAYUM, they were LOUD. At that point I was getting really tired but I kept going because I just couldn't stand still with such a beat.

    12:30am Hocico
I never got into their stuff, but they were great live. Crazy Mexicans. The crowd at this point was almost too packed to dance. They actually did an encore.

    01:55am Iszoloscope
The first 30 minutes were insane, but around 2:30 it became weird and it kinda killed the crowd's enthusiasm. I physically crashed at ~2:40 I couldn't move and just stood there, lol. I carried really heavy stuff in the sun and pretty hot weather during the afternoon, it's surprising that I made it that far.

    Even better than Day 2.

Best things about this festival is that very few people are breaking the atmosphere. Pretty much everyone is wearing "fitting" clothes and moving. The venue is made for much larger crowds so everyone has their 1-2mē of space to move and it's just a giant dance floor. Lots of beautiful people, it's pretty much 50/50 guys/girls and holy shit hot girls in leather and mesh and uniforms everywhere.

I'm looking forward to tonight, it's the EBM/Synthpop night.

I wub Industrial and EBM so much! Shame on me for never ever looking in this subforum before.
Also, I noticed a distinct lack of Komor.

    So, have some more Komor...
      Spoiler:

Sebastian Komor - Electro Body Music ( Freak Edit )

Komor Kommando feat. j-l de meyer (front 242) - john the revelator(club mix)

Komor Kommando - Predator (feat. Sascha of KMFDM)

KMFDM - Never Say Never [ Komor Kommando Remix by Sebastian Komor ]

    MELT - Worm [POS] - Industrial - Metal - Rock - Alternative
Melt is a new experiment done by Komor and some other guy. Recent and good.

    More singing...
      Spoiler:

Apoptygma Berzerk - Kathy's Song (VNV Nation Remix)

More stuff that is harder to categorize but I love it anyway...
      Spoiler:

    Nekromantik - Laxical
I know this guy in real life, but he disappeared completely... this is free Demoscene music. Made some really awesome stuff before he went into hiding few years back.

Voodoo Velkro - Black Magic Techno

    GSUS! - Crucifix (Blaster remix)

Seems my post got eaten in the rollback. Let's try this again:

Grabbed the new Assemblage 23 Album Bruise off Itunes a while back. A solid release, though I especially love the bonus disc from the deluxe addition. Fave track is down below:

      Spoiler:

Probably my fave atm, even though I don't much care for Grendel's own work. Boyz Noise remix is a close second.
