If you use faction ammo (and why wouldn't you), it's about 250/295 dps, no implants.

srsly this needs to be here
HERRO 21km FALLOFF (AF V is mandatory here)
Able to neut anything frig-sized that you fail to keep at range
If anyone remembers that old stabber video i was looking for back on the shc... THIS IS THE SAME FUKKEN SHIP. Fells the same, handles the same. Just smaller and softer.
Also it literally shits all over anything amar (lol laz0rs)
Owns most of the frigs i encountered (well, everythign i encoutnered thus far. Which isn't a lot, mind you). Slower AFs you can kite no problem, faster AB things that land a scram on you you can neut no problem.
First problem is really fast things (lr slicer), but he can't break you in a thousand years.
I fought only one dram but he fucked off when i hit him from 20 km lol, meaning i never killed a dram in it. so no report here.
Also, i never fought a daredevil, but i reckon it'd be a cap warfare thing. warp at range, make the fagot mwd around trying to catch you before you zap him...
FU now i wantto buy 4 wolfs

    Re: Wolf

The (lack of) speed/web is the only thing I particularly dislike. Makes it hard to take advantage of it's range.

Imo the secret, if you can call it that, is to just start pummeling things from the moment they enter range as you burn away - you'll be suprised how many frigs start to close, take a poundiing, try to disengage and die running.

    Re: Wolf

Pretty much the T2 version of a armor rifter, very hard to track in close orbits even by frigs if you have a speed imp or two. 1100+ straight line speed w/o heat and the CY-2 and Zors, around 700-800m/s orbit speed. 200mm acs fit easy but I prefer the tracking of the 150mm. Tanks 78 DPS on overheat with 8.4k EHP.

Thats p expensive considering that its likely to die vs a competent mwd frig/inty pilot (or dramiel - competence not required)

Here's my basic cheap version of the nos + rep fits, stole the explosive hardener + kinetic rig combo from a prom fit in the old thread.

[Wolf, 200mm + rep cheap standard]
    Damage Control II
    Small Armor Repairer II
    N-Type Explosive Hardener I
200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I

150mm Light AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet Fusion S
150mm Light AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet Fusion S

    Small Projectile Burst Aerator I
    Small Anti-Kinetic Pump I

Can upgrade the 150mms to 200s with minor fiddling, but brawling wolfs really need tracking.

So I've been playing with Vagawolfs in EFT and came up with trying the following fit. Drops the plate for a repper for more prolonged endurance and slightly better speed/agility. Plus a t2 ROF and an ambit for better falloff (and I don't have AF V atm).

Curious from anyone who's actually flown them, how important is the buffer versus being able to get a couple reps in during a fight? Could possibly upgrade the SAR II for a Coreli C-type for some improved cap efficiency.

189 DPS overheated with Barrage at 25.9kms
237 DPS overheated with RF EMP at 17kms
    5,790 EHP
    2,543 m/s, 3,608 overheated
    4.4s align w/o MWD

Edit: Upgrading the named MWD to a Gistii B-type and the SAR to a Coreli c-type improves the cap alot for only 15m.

Tank leaves something to be desired, but 21km falloff + 204 dps w/ barrage

    14km + 256 dps w/ shortrange ammo.

    318 optimal (sx-2, cx-1, overheat) shortrange DPS
I tried to be cool and all I got was a lousy warning about my sig being too big.

Wasn't entirely serious but yeah, arties don't really work well if you want a prop mod too. Run into both CPU and PG issues all over the place and dedicating half your lowslots to fitting mods is eugh.

Tracking is half decent though with the TE and 250's. But I wouldn't fly it, perhaps it can work in some AF gang where you're certain you won't be primary (and even then a lolthrasher is better)

apart from being alpha'd by passing hurricanes, i think it's down to how much damage you're taking. if i'm being hammered by something blaster-flavoured the damage will be coming thick and fast enough to overwhelm the rep cycles so you'll get more use out of the plate.

    something like this..

    200dps incoming, 1000 buffer, 50dps repped (1000/150) armour gone in 6.666r seconds
200dps incoming, 1500 buffer (1500/200) armour gone in 7.5 seconds

..those numbers are entirely made up, but you get fractionally more out of a plate getting face raped. if the damage is lower the reps begin to cover the incoming damage and you start to worry about cap and stuff instead. with the 200mm SAR version you get the best (and worst because you're now slow and cap dependant) of both worlds.

    Re: Wolf

With the massive falloff advantage of the "vagawolf" I don't see the need for both a DCII and a small rep, excepting operating where you MUST personally rep after winning fights, but if you operate near a place you can rep, you're really much better off with the additional "dps tank" or "range tank" offered by a 3rd damage mod of some sort (imo).

    Re: Wolf

So on paper the ship looks pretty good, but I was trying it out today and it really handles like a brick. And that's without the plate. The SAR isn't very useful except for in between fights I guess and it really lacks for damage. Definitely needs the Gyro + damage rig and even then I think it's pretty meh.

All in all, I think I'm just going to train into a Navy Slicer instead which seems better suited to the role.
