well if anyone knows how to translate oldschool titles into modern success it's fireaxis.
I swear to god Sid Meier is like the Einstein of gaming.
He really is. And hope this doesn't turn into a failure or anything, XCOM needs love and not that first person shooter kind of love.
The 2004 version of Pirates was p. good and delivered more than just a repackaged game with remade graphics, so hoping for something similar here.
Theres a indie dev working on an XCOM remake as well, its not official but its pretty much the same but in a cold war setting.

If you were a superhero you'd be The Incredible Fucktard with your ever-ready sidekick Douchetard Boy. Together, you fight intelligence and common sense where you go.
i really wish firaxis would remake their OWN game...... alpha centari
A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code

Off course it will be good, its Sid Meier. You can't expect failure from this man, look at what he did with Civ V
oh wait ...
Don't remake old shit, if you want to play SMAC go play SMAC, make "spiritual successors" if you must, but with a better plot and take advantage of new game design ideas / more computing power.
I like civ5. Sure, it gets rid of some of the good stuff of previous civs without dealing with some of the major issues (like what a boring, blobby, CPU burning chore the endgame is). But...urm...the narrator has a nice voice.
I haven't played Civ 5 so I don't know how bad it was, but Sid did not design that game so don't pin its failures on him. I think he was working on the facebook Civ game and no I'm not saying that's to his credit. Anyway, Sid working on it doesn't mean much, we don't know what kind of development mandade he was given. I think he did a decent job with Civ Rev though.
Xenonauts looks better tbqfh
