Home life is still driving me insane, hopefully will find out about Awesome Job in the next couple of weeks, however the school I am doing supply work in have essentially ordered me to apply for the permanent job there. If I do (and get it, which I most likely will), I'll be out of here in a month. But doing a job I really hate for the next couple of years that will leave me a different kind of emo.

It's not that flexible unfortunately due to fucked up teaching notice dates. Plus one of the big focuses of my life is to get out of the teaching profession completely while I am still young and single. I can't help but feel taking the job will be an epic step backwards. But it gets me out of my shitty hometown to a much less shitty city...

What does this even mean? If the notice period is unreasonable, ignore it and give a reasonable notice period. You aren't a slave. (This is also perfectly legal in most instances)

Any other job I would just be all "fuck it" but having a teacher quit at a funny time can seriously fuck up things for the students, who are mostly innocent in all this.

In any case 2-3months notice is fine for most job offers - just push hard for interviews 4 months prior to each term
