    No idea what it really was but there's a video somewhere of a phoenix sitting on station alpha-ing or near-alpha BS ... basically if you roll a Recon V rapier w/ 2x Web / 2x TP / Point (or something near that) you can smack BS for nearly full damage.... which for citadel torps is roughly 130k or so... enough to kill most BS (minus slaves / links / etc. of course)... in any case, 2 volleys will roll basically any BS as long as the rapier survives.

    Using 3 chars you can easily hit for full damage and rig up some sort of way to keep them all alive. (or fleeting with 3-4 friends)

    For increased ability to hit (the other rigs only work on "guided missiles")

    In any case you roll 138,576 EHP worth of alphastrike. That's....significant. Combined with your total buffer and sustained tank of 2+K (and 8k burst).... a couple (loki boosted) rapiers and scimis will make this in to a death machine for most things on an undock point.

    Edited to add: in the first 12 seconds of an engagement, given that you're hitting for full alpha, you do 278k damage. That's the difference between plain old "DPS" and "Alpha over time"... specifically between the first and second torp hits you're doing 23166 DPS due to the alphastrike and followup effect.

    I do want to mention that many of the discussions in this thread have similar applications elsewhere. =D

    About that phoenix fit - it would appear he thought he was safe with all his ehp and tank as long as he humped a station. Massed gank dreads say no. (Surprised they didn't use SCs/Titans, but w/e)

    No, I did notice. It's very similar to a moros I ganked back in the day. Idea is you have a retarded amount of ehp/half decent tank, so as long as u don't get bumped off station nothing can really kill you, meaning you can agress w/e u want. Moros used to use sentry drones when it had the drone bonus, this phoenix was obv doing something very similar. You shoot at subcaps, not caps, so you use subcap weapons.

    As to the lack of capital tank - prob lack of skills, altho tbqh if you have crystals, a pimped xl booster is as good as a capital one, not sure how it compares to meta capital tho.

    We killed the moros by dropping a large (for the time) group of carriers / a few dreads after baiting him with a phoon.

    Iirc, this was back when I lived in syndicate - doog times remembered.

    Yeah I thought of that after posting. If fleetmates/alts are pointing anyways, drop a cap charger and the point and add 2x SeBo. Between that and the massive target painting more like... 20s lock?
