Spot on with the beard![]()
Improvement is substantial on certain aspects like connectivity:

After this changes I think this could replace desktops in some scenarios, like schools or libraries, for sure.

Finally managed to get some time to do a PiHole out of a 1st gen rPi and I have to say it's fantastic.
Apparently it can block Windows Telemetry as well as unwanted Windows updates![]()
Since there is quite disjointed information around the internets about the rPi specs, I compiled them in a google docs sheet. Please PM for corrections or if you feel I need to add anything.

Nice one Cosmin. You might also be interested in running your pi-hole unbound especially with all the 'funky' DNS issues that have occurred over the last year or so. I've been running it and whilst the first time you visit a domain does take a couple of 0.1 seconds more after that it just uses the cache.

Basically turns your pi-hole into a DNS server just for you.

Can you explain more for the layman on how this differs from using pi-hole with Cloudflare DNS as described in their tutorial for example?

Hopefully that answers any questions.

Browsing for Pi cases on Amazon and came across this: https://smile.amazon.com/Cloudlet-CA...7343666&sr=8-4
In multiple flavors, of course. Really tempted to get one.

Black lime has a strong Star Trek vibe - if you do this you need to call each Pi an isolinear chip.

BTW, fun fac regarding pi-hole.
I am definitely in love since I had to move and for a while I didn't have any way of putting it in place. The quantity of advertisement on the internet is literally disgusting and distracting and there are plenty of websites with nice content that are drowned in popups, ads, ads in popups and so on. Honestly, my pi-hole block list has around 800.000 blocked domains and sometimes ads still slip through the cracks.
Mind boggling.
I am also considering retiring my mk1 Raspberry Pi as I have received a mk4 as a gift (with 4GB of RAM) and this latest one is noticeably faster even via putty. I am looking towards a setup involving Docker so that the whole thing is more modular and easier to experiment on. Thoughts?
