technically if the incoming DPS is less than shield EHP/60 you can reload in time and tank as long as you have boosters, but that doesn't really happen very often. I guess exceptions would potentially be a podla drake or vagabond with a LASB, which would be capable of mitigating damage with range, and was involved in a much longer skirmish where their slower passive regen is out-paced.
LASB are actually really interesting mods, because they are a middle ground between burst tank vs buffer tank. They also add a whole new paradigm for the dps-charts and spreadsheets brigade to be Mathematically Correct about which is something we can all enjoy.

Also, dual ASB's which is the de-factor way to shield tank ships now. Just run one for 60s, then reload other. Very OP and hilarious - CCP shoulda put a 1 module per ship cap on these just like the new armor module(which noone uses afaik and/or knows how it works). lulz
How have the kite fits been working? I'm considering trying them out. I have been using the blaster fit but I hate having to commit to a fight/ getting kited myself.

My kite Merlin has beat anything ive come across, and been able to disengage vs multiple targets very nicely.
I actually prefer it over my dual ash Merlin(which tanked a dd the other day - the after fight local chat was hilarious)
I did change my rigs up tho - from memory I went 1x locus, 1x metastasis(ur tracking is shit otherwise), 1x burst
I think u need hybrid grades to lvl 3 at least to fit it pg wise without having to change dcu to iffa and swapping t1 apc to t2(or spending silly money on named apcs)
