    ...3 Neutrons + heat + Void + 2 MFS + T2 Burst rig + Hobgob + SH-603 + SS-901 tops out at 335dps
    And that's needing 4 CPU-assising mods+rigs+implants.
    Edit: forgot drone dps, also am using T2 DC like a bad frig fitter.

    i wouldnt say that works well...
    youll be running that booster constantly, and therefore drain it pretty damn fast

    I loved the old Merlin, too. My favorite cheap frigate. Oh well...

    I am considering taking this out for a spin. Everyone expects the brawler blaster-buffer Merlin, but I figure I can try to kite with rails.

    they could have made it something far more interesting, ie: a tristan with a nice missile damage bonus instead of hybrids
    but noooo people are incompetent and dislike dual weapon systems

    I don't mind dual weapon systems in general but I think they're an unbelievably terrible idea on t1 frigates that new players are told to build for themselves towards the end of their tutorial missions.

    the idea of getting new players into the weapon system isn't anything too outlandish.
    it's far better to introduce said concepts BEFORE they have trained some fancy T2 frigate or tried to go into cruisers (which would be a whole new level of whatever weapon).

    it's a flawed mentality that people think dual-weapons are worse than single.
    it's called flavour dammit, and i'm going to flip my lid if ccp/csm removes the tristans dual weapons

    Not to mention that splitting guns and launchers allows for some damage type selection which is otherwise unavailable.

    I agree with this. People lament too much about their ships not being able to this or that in comparison to another ship rather than enjoy and celebrate the differences. Flying out in similar ships with only slight changes to tank types isn't exploiting what the backstory allows us to exploit.

    derp, that was just a comparison - you wanna go with cap booster 50s. Theyre 2 compared to navy booster 100's 3. Was ust a test I was doing to compare, never changed it back.

    Care to explain this Prom? An anc. booster running off charges gives you more EHP than an MSE2, doesn't it? If that's the case, then provided the fight lasts long enough for you to get through all your cap boosters, and subject to fitting trade-offs, you're better with an anc. booster than a MSE2. Once you're out of boosters, you can decide whether it will be more useful as a final boost at massive cap cost, or whether you want to reload and try and survive for 60 secs until it does, but I would say once you reach that point the module has done its job, and anything else you can get out of it is gravy...
