Actually much more silent IRL. Managed to make everything work (QMK/VIA, RGB, encoder etc).

Guns make the news, science doesn't.
Stuck some Kailh Silent switches on my Zowie FK-2 and now it's quieter than the keyboard with stock Zilents V2. The humanity.
Edit: made a short clip on the difference it makes:

Assembled this for a friend - GMMK Pro, polycarbonate plate, lubed and filmed zilents v2. He wanted a silent build, very happy how it turned out.

Yep got the sockets to do that already, but apparently the lily hotswap kit doesn't come with a socket for the OLEDs, so I might cut down a spare 24pin socket and repurpose that, as soon as some diode legs turn up. The mc were detected by QMK toolkit and so far so good, half the price of Elite-Cs for USB-C connectors. Just need to practise some soldering, and try source some ~12mm M2 female-female standoffs to hold the acrylic covers over the socketed OLEDs.
Nice![]()

Fuck me, I soldered the mc in so you can see the onboard LEDs and that the surface mounted components clear the socket's bridging plastic... turns out it should go upside down, hiding any LEDs or reset button, and you need to clip out the socket's structure to let it fit.![]()
Ah, sorry, I got it now. Be careful with the sockets, they're notoriously hard to clip, I've ruined a couple of cutters on them.

Any good keyboards with a detachable numpad?
Atm I got this piece of ship Asus ROG Claymore keyboard.
I cannot disable that fucking function key (And when you accidentaly press the ALT key next to it, it starts recording secret macros).
Why is it called earth, when it is mostly water???
Acquire a southpaw and enjoy extra space for your mouse and all the joy of numpad superiority
I like the aesthetics of southpaw but I'd go with a separate numpad altogether these days. Not to mention that if you get one that can carry QMK the sky is the limit with OLED/encoders/etc. Have a project in the design phase right now and it looks to be pretty useful at the end (with layers and VIA support).
A possible explanation on why Logitech mice clicks die off:
Part 1:
Part 2:
I need to get a mouse pad, the desk surface is slowly grinding down the mouse feet.
The smaller the mouse pad the better really, no particular preference on material as long as stays clean/can be cleaned.
Any suggestions? I don't do any gaming, just office work all day long.
