Having now used the Creative GigaWorks T20 Series II for about 2 week, I can confirm that they are really good. The bass for this set is amazing, considering it is a simple 2.0 set. Well worth the 65 euros I dropped for it.

Also can recommend the logitech illuminated keyboard I got. It looks really nice and for it types really smoothly because the keys are so low. Especially nice if you are used to a laptop keyboard. It's no pro-gaming keyboard but I have had no problem with it so far in gaming.

There are newer logitech mice that use batteries, and can last for 6 months on one pair of AA.

The thing about the g700 is that it will use the cable for data when plugged in. The MX performance will not, it's always wireless. I have an mx performance too, and I found the wireless on it to not be 100% reliable for games.
After reading this I ordered a g700 and been using it for a few days now. Love it! It's like an MX518 on steroids.. Going to sell of my MX518 stock I think...

I have roccat kave 5.1 surround headphones. They are sturdy, sound terrific and convinced my wife we need surround sound in the living room. No amount of ++++ after an A will justify the good these headphones have done. They were £69.99 in pcworld.

They were a gift from my parents

I use a sony ericsson MW600 bluetooth dongle with my phone/pc/tablet/laptop. Very cheap little device, you are free to discard the headphones it comes with and plug your own in. Also it acts as mic. Old bluetooth audio quality sucked... but modern gear is ok. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-.../dp/B003DQ1DCM

Might be a problem if your pc doesn't have bluetooth. The more expensive motherboards come with it, or you can buy a bluetooth usb thingy for like 3 quid or so. I mainly got this for my phone, but have ended up using it with everything.

    DAS KEYBOARD!

    Das Keyboard!

I figured that since I'm a regular keyboard user that I'd put a bit of extra thought into my next keyboard. One name in particular kept coming up, Das Keyboard. Now I've never used the IBM Model M keyboard that this unit is supposed to conjure memories of, but as someone who has used the cheapo ones since forever, this thing is fan-fucking-tastic.

Don't let the lack of labeled keys scare you, I got this particular model due to nerd pride. Each one in their range has a labeled and non-labeled counterpart. Though I half expect if I delve back into coding at one stage that hitting the symbols in and around enter will be a hit-and-miss affair.

The key mechanism is louder than I was expecting, just below what I'd consider to be a serious negative. All the keys feel 'springy', and if you have a light touch with your keyboarding I think you'll be a natural fit. It was around $150AUS for this unit, way beyond what I've paid for keyboard in the past, but if it lasts a couple of years (which is something they stress as a thing for this keyboard) then it might well average out to a nice price.

I find the G930 works really well, I've been using it for about a year. good range, I can get anywhere in my house (except behind the microwave while it's running) and get perfectly clear signal. surprisingly convincing 7.1 sound considering it only has one driver per ear. long battery life, I can last most of the day off a single charge, all of it if I'm charging while I'm at the computer. and it's been noted by a serious audiophile that they have surprisingly good sound quality considering they are wireless, have good battery life, have a mic, and can replicate 7.1.

Got the G700 and it is indeed a sexy beast. The extra buttons don't get in the way and can be distinctly identified by touch and it has a really nice textured feel. Wireless feels responsive enough without any problems with small movements but i'm keeping it wired cause if its shitty battery life.

I also got a Razer Black Widow Ultimate for my birthday. TAK TAK TAK TAK TAK <3.

The dust here is really bad (desert) and I just don't care enough to dust every couple days. Also I blew it out outside, made it spotless about 3 weeks ago, looked down there last night and it's full of the stuff again.

I have a Steelseries 7G; it's awesome, but hard to type on during late night gaming sessions.

The IT guys in our office both have rather loud musical phones, and I've though of getting a mechanical keyboard as revenge sometime. Would probably get stabbed by coworkers though.

On a more practical front, how is the Das K for gaming? I've read a few round-ups of mechanical keyboards that have alleged that the clickier Cherry switches aren't good for fast FPS-style stuff due to their large travel (this review for example).
    Domination.

My housemate uses my pc a lot, he say the DAS ultimate is the best gaming keyboard he has ever used. I think he just likes the sound of it when he mashes Q and W repeatedly playing LoL. You don't actually need to bottom out the key for it to register.

These aren't the clicky switches tho. Clicky ones are the tactile switches that are recommended for typing.

Cherry Blacks (what my keyboard has) have no "hump" of force to overcome. They travel with the same resistance all the way down.

Cherry Reds are the same type of travel, but they require less weight.

It is widely thought that these two switches are better for gaming.
