    + w/e drones.

Will be trying this with crystals + tengu boost soon. Appears to be unbelievably OP tbqh. Ancillary booster makes you neut-proof, and gives you a "ZOMGWTF DE FUCKING AGGRO" tank of 8115 (overload invuln + both boosters, mindlink tengu, LG crystal 1-6, strong blue pill).

Not sure what CCP were doing with these ancillary boosters as they just obsoleted active tanked shield ships one weakness - neuting.

Looking forward to trying this out =D

You really might want to try it on Sisi first is all I'm going to say. Also fun fun fun juggling 2 stacks of cap boosters.
Don't modern crystal'd maels have a web too? People caught on to just scram on a no-prop-mod BS for 'tackle'.
I've yet to test this theory-crafting:

Did I get how ASBs work wrong? I read the TMA thread and am going on that. ASB is NOT intended to be reloaded throughout a fight tbh. Whole point is its there in case A) dps is too high in the beginning, tank it long enough to take it down to tankable levels B) neuting ship shows up or C) more ships come and I am forced to deaggro - that's my extra tank.

I do like ur fit tho, will look into that too.

get a buddy with a web maybe.

Otherwise tend to agree the no-web thing could become a fairly srs issue.

The idea of the above fit was: mock a neut domi, or pack of canes. Basically don't care if your cap gets smashed, you can run the injector to keep it as high as you can manage or just ensure mods cycle, meanwhile you hold stuff down and plow 1200dps into them. It's not a usual uber-tank Mael, but that's all they expect. If you can tank them on 1 booster, you can alternate between, especially if you can keep your cap buffer mostly full to get a few more cycles from the uncharged ASB.
Also you probably want Ogre IIs.

Idea being to run one of them until you need to reload, then switch to the other booster with the option of running both for crazy burst tank.

I was looking at something similar for jumping into a camp as bait. Would be nice to have some crystals... but im not spending 60mil on them for 1 ship (i normally fly armor tankers)

Was looking at this and thought: how many neuts are people going to bring to a meal fight? Seeing as half your tank is already neut immune would it be an idea to make all of it independent of cap? You could do 2x SBAII and an EM Amp with therm and kin resists which gives ~1K tank without heat/pills/tengu/crystals

That may well be a good idea but make sure the EHP doesn't go too low. That's why I like the invulns, they add EHP and tanked DPS.

    60k EHP...v0v

Should only be without a booster for 16sec, or if you're capable of keeping count in a fight 8 seconds; so i guess the loss of 12k EHP is alright. Obviously the invulns are superior with no neuts around but with no cap booster if they do turn up there's very little chance to turn them back on (again assuming that they stagger their neuts and aren't bads).

This seem pretty legit gonna run with Tengu links and do some Low Sec faggotry, maybe with a Rokh w/neut as a buddy.

    Any thoughts?

Gets neuted, invuln turns off, dies.
And/or tackle goes off, you can't hold anything, you ASB until out of charges.
Thus why I suggested the injector, and Warmen just using SBAs.

Seems legit, I figure the Invul gives more EHP for a bit of alpha protection, as for injector fitting it, seems like the whole point of the ASB is to not have to do it.

Yeah but while it does have ZOMG Mael ASB tank, everyone knows that, and so would have to be really stupid to engage and/or die. So those that aggress will have neuts, or ECM or something to sidestep the lol-Crystal'd tank. More tank buys you more time, more chance of people reshipping to counter you, and I think it's morely likely 1 neut BS can alpha/empty your cap than they can grab enough arty ships to alpha your EHP in full-deaggro mode. And the neuts will work, quite quickly and even if you had an injector, to surely save anyone tackled, whereas reshipping to lower-dps alpha ships may not.
Maybe I give people too much credit.

Don't get me wrong I get the idea, but tbh, all its gonna do is switch that Invul, by dropping that Invul for say, a booster, you loose that slot of tank even if it is only available for the first few minutes.

The Rokh on the other hand, I get, being balls deep and capping out with Cap Using guns would be, unpleasant.
