How unusual. Maggots, mites, cockroaches and other small insects I've heard of burrowing into ears, but never a spider, there's not really anything for them to eat in there. By that one's size I don't think its chelicerae would be able to break the skin

I see that the US now has 2 more golds than China so this won't be as amusing but i've found it interesting that throughout the Olympics the medal tables of almost all websites match that of the official medal table in determining factors for position, (ie gold first, then silver's, then bronzes) but the medal tables of US news websites seem have their table's positions decided by the total number of medals and not the total number of golds.

Question for UK folk, if a pub has "inn" in the name does that mean it by definition has rooms for the night as well, or is it sometimes a vestigial thing no longer available?

From an Australian perspective (and that's inherited from the Brits). The Inn bit (or Hotel) means that it has rooms for let above the bar. Usually cheap ones that backpackers like. However now days more often than not they just use it in the name and don't have rooms.
