I assume it was about how many people knew that person and not knew that person was from there. And then Spartacus wins miles before Vlad.

Then the map makes even less imo.

Tesla maybe, but hardly anyone actually knows who Tito was anymore, other than that there was someone named Tito who did... something.

Good thing this looked at worldwide or at least wider regions, because how Albert Einstein could beat Martin Luther or Konrad Adenauer if only Germans were asked is beyond comprehension for me. Einstein barely made the top 10 in this ranking by one of our main broadcasters:

I think that the map is who is the most famous world wide from each country given current borders. So while people in the balkans know Tito (aside from his name being easily remembered due to it being short and unusual), he looses out because no one else really cares about him. I still think tesla has more modern fame than Diocletian though, then again I'm not sure how famous tesla is outside of internet culture whereas Diocletian is probably touched in a lot of history courses all over the place.

Diocletian is the most successful Emperor post 2nd century and among the best three Roman Emperors/Dictators. The other two being Caesar and Augustus. He saved the Roman Empire from the brink of destruction and ensured it would survive for another 150 years. Anyone with a classic education heard of him and is aware of his importance.

I'd say Constantine was far more important in the post-Augustine era. Hell, even Traian should be up there, as the Roman Empire reached its peak in terms of size under him.

"I think we could all do with sitting back a bit and detaching ourselves from the situation to really think about how these issues reflect on our future and how we discuss them here and be a bit less aggressive or defensive because everyone has a complicated set of circumstances that has led the to place importance on particular issues and it doesn't meany any of them is less valid, we just need to look at the broader picture"

Human feet and hands as a force of erosion. Was gonna link the photos from this tweet but then I started scrolling the replies and it's better if you just look through it yourselves rather than me dumping them all here.
