Am i missing something? At least in elementary schools it isn't unusual to test a pupil's ability to correctly transcribe a short text.
Single words are perhaps a bit too easy but the test itself is rather common.
Then why is each transcribed word marked incorrect?

    Is that not a tick?

I assumed that was all marked correct

    Also there's a 10 on the right, 10/10?

Let me guess. In Germany incorrect marks use the red pen and correct markings get the green pen.

In other places it's all red pen (for contrast with the blue or black biro used by students) and correct/incorrect is marked with ticks and crosses.

I believe to him this concept is akin to using the improper stamp on a government document. A criminal offense punishable by death from what I understand

I think he hasn't noticed the slight curvature present on each line.

No, red all the way. But that looks like a line and not a check mark. Hence the confusion.

Also each word was misspelled, it was capitalized. EDIT: So for me the task was clear, but the marking wasn't.

For what looks to be an Elementary School test it is fine. You're being pedantic.

    No shit.

Also, if I don't make an x for wrong answers, I make a single line looking like the ones in the picture.
