I appear to have a problem.
i literally cannot stop playing Mordekaiser. Every time I go to pick, i'm like "Hmmm, haven't used that, looks fun. or I could use that one, that's good here. FUCK NO I SHALL PLAY MORDEKAISER".
That said, 12 wins in a row solo queue, which ain't half bad (only lvl 18 though, so retards abound).
If you get competent enemy team, prepare to be camped 24/7 by their jungler.

You forgot wards. Morde really loves his wards, due to not having an escape.
From the blue team perspective:

Wards in the red spots are critical. Keep them up at all times. If you ever don't have 2 wards in inventory to replace them and there's less than 1 minute left on the timers, recall and buy wards. This pretty much goes for every mid champion in the game.
The Yellow spot is for when you start attempting to steal the enemy wraiths. You may want to ward both bushes next to Red (above and below) as well.
The green spots are "nice to have" wards. The bushes directly next to mid lane shouldn't need to be warded, but vs really good junglers they will be. EG Lee Sin can drop a ward in one of those bushes and safeguard over to it, bypassing your vision of river entirely. When you see this happening start warding these two bushes. The ramp near your side's wraiths is a good ward to help prevent counterjungling, and also to protect you from enemy junglers going the "long" way around river wards. The dragon/baron wards are there because you may need to ward it at some point. Note especially the placement of the dragon ward, it lets you see the river, both paths to purple-side blue golem, and dragon. Placing the ward closer to dragon means you lose vision of one or both paths.
Of course you can ward elsewhere if needed. Try to ensure that your wards cover as many paths as possible.
Morde is easily ganked. Wards are cheap, don't get ganked.

Was implied, Morde should always have wards up, buy 2x each back. That's the sign of an inexperienced Morde, or an overconfident one is one that doesn't ward.
I buy wards on all lanes tbh. Sometimes even as AD carry when my supp doesn't ward properly.

Ult the enemy carry. Melt the carry first and the unholy AD/AP boost you receive lets you 1v4 what's left of the enemy team. (Well, 2v4 really. You and your ghost.) If you can't blow up their ADC, blow up their squishy AP champ. But really, really try for the ADC if it won't be suicide to do so.

Oh, definitely true.
As AD I generally start buying wards after the lane phase is over, since the support can't ward everything and I should damn well have plenty of farm/kills. And there are always times like warding over the baron wall when the support is in base and stealing baron with a Graves/Trist ult.
Pretty much what people have said. Wards, wards everywhere. And then farm. Keep farming. Get the Revolver, farm a shitload more.
You can easily push/win lane. In fact, if you aren't careful, you can easily over push the lane and get to extended, so this is something to watch out for.
He can also harass lane opponent pretty hard early. Siphon Life hits quite hard, and has surprising range, and his shield means he can take a couple of pokes with no health loss.
Once nicely farmed, go get a fight. Ult AD Carry, when he dies laugh uncontrollably as the rest of the am collapses and you get a quadrakill (no pentakill yet though for me). Also great for pushing towers after a team fight, even wityh no minions. Send the AD carry ghost to tank, then beat on it with no risk.
