Wouldn't it be easier to list what WILL be available?
Also why can't we make a "heavy gauss boat?"
We have gauss rifles and big mechs...

Nope. Nice try though.
I think it refers to heavy gauss rifles.

And they come some years after the date MWO is set in.

nevar forget
sigh, by request.
only stuff from the following TRO's will be available at first, please note that the LBX-10 is not listed in the official material at the moment, so any mechs mounting a LBX-10 Class autocannon wont be in from what we know right now.

its also unknown if we get the unseens or not, rumor has it both ways right now, and its HIGHLY doubtful everything listed above is actually in.
(and much of the 2750 kit is several hundred years out of production)

Some of those mechs will make it in though, likely in the form of pay-through-the-nose DLC. Clan invasion will hit after ~9 months from the release date, meaning you can likely buy your Timber Wolf or Dire Wolf if you really want them (no dice on Cougars though; 3058 production date).
really? AC/2 was another troll weapon of great fun and goodness. I used to have great fun sitting halfway across the map with a really good gunnery pilot, watch my lance mates pour in a world of pain and hate and then plink off a couple of shots.
Bythe time my lance mates got done tearing apart the armour those 2 points landing would often either take your opponent into internals OR add another couple of possible critical hits. you cannot deny the lol factor for you and your team this provides ESPECIALLY after your opponents have gone 'pffft AC/2's? BWAHAHAHAHAHA'
with AC/2's you TOO can wear your troll face proudly.
seriously. If you are playing the table top game and you are hitting your opponent with small/low damage weaponry, ALWAYS roll it and apply damage last. you'll be surprised how many possible crits you get in a game.
also..... be thankful they aren't allowing Mechforce UK weaponry. Plasma Rifles could really screw your day up - 10 points of damage plus 5 points of heat in the turn it hits. I had a Masakari designed especially to use them since they generate 15 points of heat to fire. each.
oooh! ooh!
what about inferno missiles? pretty sure they were kicking about in 3025
In the online version of tabletop gaming I've played (Megamek) heat gets capped at 15 from any single source, meaning that all the iSRMs in the world you stuff on an Artic Wolf won't turn it into a death beast (believe me, I tried). Only heat heavy mechs like the Awesome or Nova Cat ever got into serious trouble. Maybe they will do something similar in MWO.
"Oh shit guys we made an OP weapon, let's cap it's damage potential to stop people from boating it."
Seriously, what the fuck?
I am sure there are other ways because
THIS
IS NOT
TABLETOP
or maybe i did not see it last time i looked over the screenshots, honest mistake that was corrected earlier by Alex Caine.
so no need to go full retard, we know you cant help doing so Razor.
so bad.
i should neg-rep you just for mention munchforce UK in a semi serious Battletech discussion, all due respect to Bob Nicholls and what he did for the game but the mechs and equipment put out via Mechforce was gamebreaking to such a extend that it was not, and still is not allowed in "official" tournaments.
secondly, neither the AC/2 or the AC/5 are worth shit, in the AC/5's case especially, 5 damage at 18 hexes for 8+1 ton/4 crit/1 heat slots and the attendant risk of ammo explosions versus a large laser dishing out 8 damage at 15 hexes for 5 ton/2 crit/8 heat and no ammo explosion sillyness ?
that's not even a choice worth discussing, especially as crit slots are a dime a fucking dozen in 3025 and you can easily afford to load more heatsinks as a result of that.
as for the AC/2, 2 damage at 24 hexes for 6+1 ton/2 crit/1 heat ? why the fuck would you ever consider that over a LRM10 rack ? the LRM10 comes in at one ton less, averages 5 damage versus the 2 of the AC/2 and it's only 3 hexes behind in range.
there is literately no logical reason to go for the AC/2 over the LRM5 rack if you just want to do the "HURR DURR I R CRITHUNTARDING!" shit and as a added bonus using a LRM5 rack gives you indirect fire.
and if you want to do it up close, use fucking machineguns.
