Not sure which one the 5N is, but I got one of the Dragon variants to work by putting a gauss rifle and 3 med lasers on it. Gauss is boss, anything with one is automatically a decent mech.

the 5N is the one with 3 ballistic slots, 2 laser slots and a missile slot, I put a gauss rifle and 2 AC/2s on the ballistic arm, 2 medium lasers on the laser arm and maxed out the armour (sort of). It's slow as fuck with only an XL 200 engine but it definitely gets the job done.

Everyone is surprised and vaguely disappointed to see a Dragon on their team which has been proven to generate some comedy.

Totally stoked for the Jagermech though.

I quite like my 5N. I stuck an AC/10, 2 medium lasers, SRm 6 and 300XL engine. Ise it to run down lights, ram them, then nuke them. If no lights, fast ass cavalry heavy with a good punch.

so you have basically converted it into a Hollander II with a pair of medium lasers in place of the Streak-2 ?

Sounds like it would be the 1N variant, that one has a non-useless left arm but a crippling lack of low-heat dakka.

Just to say, if you have the slots and the weight, dual U/AC5's are serious weapons, for serious 'Mechs.

That's the problem with the Dragon 5N you can only put 1 UAC/5 on it due to lack of slots! Really pisses me off.

yeah...despite the multiple slots, you;'re better off with a single big gun here.

Though you CAN fit Ultra AC and AC/5 in the arm.

I did try that build before I got the XL engine, had that in the right arm and a large pulse laser in the left as well as a medium laser or something. It was alright but the rhythm of the guns is so bizarre I couldn't keep track of it, not a problem in close but when trying to lead shots it was a bit wasteful.

I think that I'll probably go back to that configuration at some point, it was quite fun, dual AC/5 is good too as long as you have something decent to back it up with, probably a streak 2 or something to make up the difference.

I was able to reserve the name 'Gregarius' in the game and it turned out I am lucky enough to check my money's worth and now looking forward to try my CPLT-K2 with 2*UAC/5 and 2*Med Lasor
The K2's 2*AC/20 version has provided so much surprise butt-sex opportunities, but was a real glass-cannon.

Since noboby in Beta started raging hard: Worth to at least get the smallest founder package?

I'd say so. Already clocked a fair few hours in it and don't have many complaints that aren't serious.

So most of your complaints are serious complaints?

Ya, that's what I've been running. It's fun, but kind of a 1-trick pony. Get anything big and slow in front of you, and you can tear them up. Anything fast or multiple at the same time? Start digging your grave.

Still unsure if I should get the Hunchback, Catapult, or Atlas for my mech. I like the AC/20, and am favored towards the Hunchback atm. But the versatility of the Catapult and Atlas are making me second guess myself.
