They are gold tanks. There will probably be other premium mechs available for sale for mechcash (WoT Gold) once the game goes open beta.
From my understanding they are just normal mechs with a fancy paint scheme and a permanent income boost. Game-play wise they should be identical to a stock mech.
They are the "Basic" hull variant of the mechs in game, the only "perk" of the founder mech, is that it gets its own, free, garage slot (or 4 for legendary). They also get a founder skin and cbills boost (but not xp).They are gold tanks. There will probably be other premium mechs available for sale for mechcash (WoT Gold) once the game goes open beta.

They might do gold equipment (clan stuff) but so far everything you can buy with gold you can buy with c-bills except hanger slots (and you get 4).
If they stick to this then gold will reduce your grind but not make you better.

PGI said multiple times... no gold ammo, and nothing direct (!) game effecting (e.g.: clan equipment) will be purchasable through Micro transactions.
What has been confirmed previously:
- You can buy same mechs through C-Bill or micro-transaction (getting it only sooner), except the Founder mechs, which are only on sale till the 7th Aug.
- premium months for more Xp and C-Bill (less grind)
- Special skins and full combination of paintings (also you can earn them through faction loyalty)
- Logos to you mech (also you can earn them through faction loyalty)
- other convenient stuff like more mech hangar slots
And all the above is in the Q&As and Dev blogs, btw.
I would expect more 'Founder' mechs for the rest of the chassis coming in sooner or later, similarly modified skins as the Founder mechs with the same C-Bill bonus... or simply as vanity items, who wouldn't pay for a more badass looking Jagermech. ;-)

Judging by the beta forums, the current playerbase for MWO has their noses stuck so far up PGIs ass they could probably get away with it easy. On the small chance that a large amount of people did get upset, they've already made their money off the founders packs those people bought for far more than they probably would have spent on the game after it went live.

Yeah, that thing is full of fail and derp. Tried to order the $60 founders package, crashed mid - transaction. Tried again, crashed. Gave up. Discovered that Paypal had actually been charged twice. Attemtped to contact them to reverse the second transaction (no response in 2 busisness days - though I suppose they have 2 more hours to get around to it this week), fail. I guess I'll just live with this elite upgrade, since it probably is not worth my time to fight with Paypal for several hours to get them to reverse a $60 charge.

I've seen other people have payment issues and there is a thread for it on the MWO forums.. I'm flying my taranis (jenner-f, with reduced armor, reduced jetpacks and 2 additional heat sinks) orbiting and tackling fatasses that can't even track me and shoot whenever I end up in their back. Sometimes I don't even have to orbit, I just stay behind them. When I'm with teammates sometimes I just crash into the enemy mechs to put them on the ground and they get absolutly raped in that 5 seconds. I like how long a mech lasts when under serious fire compared to eve and WoT. I like how much damage even a light mech can dish out. I'm still unsure about how I like to fit my Dragon, but I think inyourface damage, good speed and almost no armor is the way to go. Damn, that game is fun.
Can we have a MWO/MWLL channel in TS please?

I still have 2/4, it only reduces the duration, not the thrust.
