not really new. this trailer is from july 2009 as far as i could see (start of the trailer). problem is: they had some legal issues or something about the mech design (fasa also had some trouble because a lot of the old mechs are very similar to some japanese designs, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BattleTech#Original_game )

I too saw that trailer back in 09 and almost wet my pants with joy. And then it gets canceled cause of a damn animé franchise. it's not like macross is the only "humanoid robot" animé/manga/game/whatever out there.
That trailer btw is what i had hoped Perpetuum would be like.
instead it felt like "robotwars with legs" lawnmowersized pices of junk.

got my hopes up that some actual new material was released, I believe the dev was reassigned by its owner to work on another game thus the no action on the mechwarrior reboot front (plus I guess the legal issues too might delay it)

All i remember about mechwarrior is "Link all weapons and spam"
The targeting thing looks like it was stolen from Armored Core(not a bad thing, MW and AC tend to steal from each other). All in all, looks decent, but when I was into the whole mech thing, AC provided much faster paced combat.

I would buy this game if I had a nice joystick but I don't think it would be the same without a stick.
I didn't mind using the keyboard and mouse personally.

Its hardly really a reboot.. Its another mechwarrior game licensed under the fasa license by a different games company.. Still the 'same world', just a slightly different take on it..
I remember the day mechwarrior 2 came out and I remember playing it on my PC.. It truly was the most awesome game that anyone had ever produced to date. The expansion for it (I forget what it was called, but it was in a blue box) was however pretty shit.. But then again, all expansions of that time were compared to the wingcommander expansions, therefor all expansions were shit..
